Animal Winner - China
Caged monkeys (http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/photo-contest/photo-contest) await their fate... The judges liked that this image subverts the usual romanticized approach to wildlife photography and more accurately reflects the fate of many of the world’s animals. The sneaker at the top... injects a human being into the scene; the anonymity of the wearer suggests concealment and complicity. The structure of the cages, the horror of the captivity, the crowded composition, and the claustrophobic tension all add up to a sad and compelling photo.

Nope, just me. Aside from whale hunting. I dabble in the monkey business here and there...

Creepy. It does put the whole situation into focus though.

I wonder if these fellas are going to zoos, medical experimentation or if someones gonna pound their brains out with a hammer to eat? For the sake of them, I hope it's a zoo...

I think this picture might have been a close second. In a way it artistically reflects the fate of many of the world’s animals too.:D

I have lived in a place where those little bastards were running around wild and well I have no sympathy for them, little shit flinging, biting, angry monkey bastards. No with that out of the way it is China and maybe they don't have the resources to properly cage them or control the population (which is next to impossible with out doing what they are doing there)
Whatever live with these things for more than 3 months and you will learn the cuteness goes away real fast, and I can tell you they are not scared of you despite your size they will beat the shit out of you with out thinking twice.

Say what you will "buddy" but you come talk to me when you have any experiance with these types of animals..... why don't you go over there and get buddhist on their asses if you care so much... but when you have monkey that thrash your house, your car, and attack you because one day they decided to migrate to you locale and you try everything (But kill them) to make them move on then you can judge......Buddy

You guys seen that monkey with the little doggie show? He walks the dog and they go on fun adventures.
I wonder if the monkey brain at that Chinese restaurant was his cousin or something.
