Why do you use the internet so much?

I use the internet a lot because I am a news junkie. Love news and information. When not at home I usually have a newspaper and book as well to keep my reading of news andn info satisfied.

Between visiting sites reading news and other information is when I post.

How about you? Is your internet usage mostly for news, work, gaming, visiting forums, on-line shopping, keeping in touch with friends and family, etc...?

For quite a variety of reasons really. I use it to keep in contact with friends near and far, it is my main source of news, I use it for entertainment purposes, and also for business as I am the current webmaster for 2 websites. (No laughing dk, everybody has got to start somewhere! :)) Research is also a reason, though you have to be careful being websites can be tilted to their perspective if the subject you are researching is the slightest bit "controversial."

hmmm pretty much only for games.. I used to be all curious and try to surf.. read stuff and you know.. do anything and everything i could think of ...but then, when I was about 15 (hmm... i was kinda young when my brother decided that my parent wanted internet :P ) i was downloading alot of sailor moon stuff lol...and ended up with a trojan virus thingy and killed my entire system and made my brother want to kill me and the rest of the family was pissed cuz we only had one computer and it was now dead and well yeah...
ever since >.> I've been very affraid of internet lol.. only quite recently have i made my first attempt at downloading something *input suspence music here* and its now at 99.6% download and apparently gonna take me 14 more hours to get thet 0.4% left >.> i'm scare cuz i got no virus scan and just downloaded 9.8 gigs of a tv show >.> lets hope i don't kill my computer... I've never explored the net much since then...maybe i should again >.> I mostly only go on websites my friends tell me are safe.

Wow, the little girls are grown up now. Tal, you are the first adult I've met who has spoken of a Sailor Moon fixation as a child. Sailor Moon is getting old now, and perhaps I am, too.

Tal, I am afraid of playing games on the internet, or even TV. I see how addictive that could become. Just the other day I watched Yahoo's top 10 new games trailers and was very impressed by the graphics. Halo looked awesome.

But I won't touch it. I think games now, like religion used to be(and actually still is), will be the new opiate of the masses.

Actually I was a huge anime fan once I was younger and I still am now! I used to watch sailor moon all the time once I was younger. I even have the 5th STARS season that never came to america on VHS tape.

I mainly use the internet for forums, keeping in touch with family, info to appease my curious mind, and some gaming.

so i finished downloading something 9.8 gig or around that size...
Before i went to bed i check it out... its all working great
and now i'm awake, and its vanish!!!! O.O;;;;;
I bet my comp is gonna die now!!! how can it just vanish...
see this is why i stick to game!! they don't vanish!!
