Although as an active duty service member I will not be allowed to drink in town I hope that many many of you will join me and many more people of Irish ancestry in celebrating St. Patrick's day this saturday on "BC"street with a parade at 1400 and bands and food to follow. For those of you who are not active duty there will also be green beer and other Irish brews for sale.

Any free beer for Irish folks? Is this a way to drum up business for establishments or an actual celebration? (Since Okinawa doesn't exactly have a large Irish population I mean)

Are there my pubs/rest. serving Corned Beef? Haven't seen actual brisket for sale, just the lunch meat. MMM... corned beef, mashed potatoes, and cabbage.

this is organized every year by Martin the owner of Paddy Mac's Pub and he spends a very large amount of time effort and money on this event. As a customer and friend of Martin I am just trying to get the word out that even if we are not allowed to drink as service members this celebration is still going to happen as planned.

Fair dinkims Timmy, and thanks for the post! Sounds like a good time and I am happy it can go again this year!

Perhaps instead of green beer, they could sell beer that looks like water, served in water bottles. (ducking)
