Does anybody know if there's going to be St. Patricks Day festivities again this year on B.C. street? I was there last year for the first annual Okinawa City St. Patricks Day parade & it was a blast!

Yes, absolutely is another parade this year. Talked to Martin during the "Lockdown," and he was talking all excitedly 'bout this year's festitivities.

Can't wait to shovel some of that Shepherd's Pie down my gullet.

Martin at Paddy Mac's is having the usual bash...starts @ 1400 on Saturday...I'll be there!!!!

I don't know and haven't seen/heard anything on it. I doubt it though, because active duty military aren't allowed to consume alchoholic beverages off base and are on a 2200 curfew right now. A show that big costs a lot of money. When your biggest cash crop isn't going to be bought, the investment isn't worth it. :(

I'm sure independently, Morrigans and Paddy Macs might do something to celebrate the 'holiday" this year.

Hmmmmm.....let me think. St. Pats is actually on Monday this year, so that potentiall gives a full weekend for parties. There could be another one on B.C. Street. But i'm not sure if the Military can booze it up. I only know of some small house parties so far. Fujiyama will be closed, and the Gate 2 Garage may, MAY be open. Need to check. I heard they were still having it, missed it last year so want to try and make it this year. Guess they will just be having it minus the alcohol.

I know 'The Islanders' are playing down in Naha on Monday this time at the Irish bar down there.

So, what happened? Were there festivies? How'd it go?

Of course, St. Patrick's day is just getting started here. However, I don't have any big plans. I'll just be chilling with the family and/or neighbors and enjoying various shades of beer - from golden brown to "used motor oil" black!
