Since I kinda threw the other thread off topic (sorry) I thought I'd make a new one.
Here is a place to talk about the very first car you ever owned!
My first car was a 1989 Z24 Cavalier with a 2.8L V6 and a ton of miles on it! I loved that car:thumbup:
http://static.howstuffworks.com/gif/chevrolet-cavalier-17.jpg
Looked exactly like that, except mine was a hardtop and red.
It even had the cool digital gauges!
:edit:
This is what mine looked like:

my first car was a 1981 Mazda 626...can't find a good pic, but here is my 2nd car
http://www.therustdoctorblog.com/wp-content/914_porsche_sm.jpg
A Porsche 914...but mine was red, and in not quite as good shape as this one...for one thing it was missing the targa top, and the interior was totally trashed. I paid $400 for it. But it was a cool car for a 17 yr old.

Oh, I was old school. I had a 1965 Olds 98. It was aqua with a white top, and it was enormous! It was a two door, so the doors were something like fifteen feet long (I jest). It was fully loaded...power steering, power brakes, power windows, power trunk, etc. It had a 455 Rocket engine and it could really move off the line. Not that I ever considered racing it or anything...
I was quite a fixture around town in my boat. It got five miles to the gallon and I eventually had to add a quart of oil every four or five days. After I effectively killed it, my little brother got it and it was renamed the BatMobile thanks to its smoking abilities. NO ONE tailgated him!

Dude, did you have the 260 V8? Mine did, with a two speed. Bought it from the shop teacher with a brand new rebuild on it. It was a 289 with smaller bore and still sported a generator.

Falcons... memories. I had a '60 Falcon van, appliance delivery truck with high gearing so it just could crack 65.
But my very first car was a '53 Dodge Coronet 2-door. It had a small hemi V-8 but a totally uncool 2-speed automatic that would lurch from a dead stop like going over railroad tracks.
But I had just come to LA and I was 19, living on top of the world. :w00t:

No, it has an inline 4 banger and a manual transmission. wish it was that cool, but I plan on keeping it stock.

Same here. I had a 1973 Pontiac Grandville. It was given to me by my grandparents. I remember riding in this "nice" car when I was a kid. It wasn't so nice anymore in 1986 ;)

Hehe, great! My first car that was truly mine that I bought and paid for was a 1965 Olds F-85 Deluxe. I bought it in 1983, paid $250 for it! What a big 4 door land yacht it was.
And them I went on to own such prestigous rides as a Gremlin and a Pinto!

I had an early 80's Oldsmobile Delta 88. Cant remember exactly what year it was, but it looked just like this. Granpa sold it to me for $500, and 5 months of yard work.

SWEET! My first car was a 64 Ford Fairlane, 4 door. I hated that car when I first got it because it wasn't "kewl" and then it got totalled when I got rear-ended. Oh how I wanted that car back a few years later. :(
I then moved up to a newer 62 Ford Fairlane.

1974 Chevy pickup truck. 3/4 ton longbed. Nothing fancy, but it saved my butt in a wreck one time (the other guy didn't fare too well after blowing that stop sign in front of me).

Mine was a '67 Pontiac Grand Prix like this one......it was bad-ass...a 400 4 barrel with 10.5 to 1, dual exhausts.....basically identical to the GTO motor, but in a little heavier car. Tell me they weren't trying to mimic the batmobile with that front end!
If that car could've talked, it would have sounded like a soundtrack to a porno flick!!

My first car was a 1973 Pontiac Ventura. It was a lovely shade of oxidised metallic brown with orange and white stripes running along the sides. It had the word sprint painted in orange on the back fenders. Oh, it was sooooo ugly. My step-dad said a big car would be safer. I guess he wasn't thinking too clearly about the fact it had 350 engine. That thing could move! It had something wrong with the ball joints though so it ate tires. I'd put "new" retreads on it monthly. Ugly, ugly car!!

Well, you don't see it much anymore but I was driving home from school and pulled over for a funeral procession. The guy behind me stopped (he was driving a 65 Ford Ranchero) but the guy behind him didn't. We were all driving home from school and the last guy was passing someone in a 35mph zone so they estimated that he was doing about 65 and he slammed into the Ranchero behind me........BTW, he was driving a 67 Nova. Needless to say, my car was the only one that got "driven" home that day. The other two cars were totaled. Mine was too but only because the frame was bent.:(

I don't know what to put I drove many cars that my parents drove and then my ex-husband but the first car I owned the on that had my name on the title was a 1968 Dodge Dart GTS. Sound like this one, I miss her sound, Her body, the way she handled (very good for manual steering). But I made really good money off her so it was worth it to pay off bills.... And some day I will have a car to build again.

Had a bunch of hand me downs from step dad but the first car I ever bought with my own money was a 1962 Mercury Comet with the 144 (4) banger in it. Didn't even know that they had two production engines in it until I broke the crank shaft. That's when I found out they also came out with a 170 in them.
It were baby blue with chrome reverse rims, peel and stick hood pins, Thrush pipes, had wides on the rear and pizza cutters on the front and shaggy dark blue carpet all over the dash, rear window ledge and floor. I could get it up to 78mph if nobody was riding shot gun.:thumbup1:
