Wow, it is crazy out there. I can't believe the Okinawans are still out there walking and driving. I guess they dont canx work like they do on the base.

Haven't seen one this powerful for a long time, the rickety fence in my
garden is all down, and the table has overturned, I am just worried about
my car, looks like something has scraped it, but am not going out yet to
investigate.
Heard a man fell off his balcony in Naha and was injured.

They're hard core. My wife went to work.
Trees down all around me. Luckily the huge branches fell into the neighbors' yards. They will need a chainsaw to move them.
Perhaps with winds changing directions as it passes, I will get some big branches in this next round. Hope not. Don't want to buy a chain saw.
Been hard getting the kids out to pee without getting soaked and blown away. But, it's done and they should be good for another 4 hours.
I think this is the biggest/strongest one I have experienced here.

Just talked to my wife on the phone at her work and she said she had just listened to the news and that the East side of the typhoon which is getting ready to slam us is the strongest part.
All ye scalliwag pirates, buckle down dem hatches and break out de rum. We in for some rough seas ahead. Yarg!

My palm trees have really taken a beating. One coconut tree has been derooted and has fallen over. It can't get up.
The shed I have spent the last several months reinforcing has held up so far.
The winds are really whippin up again.
Surprised the forums are not full of people since everyone is home.

The east side of a typhoon is always the worst side.
My dog was getting brave and going outside until the wind picked up.
Now my whole building is swaying in the wind a bit.
My balcony is starting to flood but it shouldn't come into the apartment. My neighbors fiber cable is also blowing around on my balcony. Some of my neighbors actually left their dishes out!

My yard is getting worse and worse by the minute. In one part I have debri accumulation (branches and leaves) in inches. I hate raking in hot steamy post typhoon weather. And mosquitos come back with a vengeance with all the little pools of stagnant water that is created in many spots.

The wind sounds like a train, and the rain's coming in from all sides right now, but here, right outside the Foster commissary gate, the only damage I can see is one downed satellite and one snapped antenna. And it seems like it might be thinking about winding down soon.
The power's been out on Kinser since earlier this morning, I guess, and no one bothered bringing in their garbage cans so there's tons of debris down there. Here, it's just some leaf bits and the occasional plastic planter. I've actually been outside a lot today, where the geometry of the buildings here turns the gales into breezes. Got to love Okinawan ingenuity.

Yeah, if I didn't have dogs I would be out and about enjoying the winds -- trying to find one of those coffee/tea shops that never closes -- and hopefully somewhat near the ocean. Or I would just buy some onigiri from a convenient story and park my car with a good view.

my power went off actually for about 5 minutes twice but came back on right away.
My wife just told me 82,000 houses on Okinawa lost electricity.

I've been without power since 7am! Luckily I have a generator to run the downstairs, so we had radio, a/c and a cold fridge! I just got power back 30 minutes ago...and there are still thousands without power!

Today must have sucked terribly for you. :(

If we didn't have the generator it would have been unbearable! We actually invited some of the neighbors over to "chill" with us!

Well, now that the typhoon is over I'd have to say that it has been years since I have seen one of this strength! Last year we had one weak one if I remember correctly.
