Here's an important article..someone needs to file an official protest to Mayor's of Chatan, Okinawa City and Governer Nakaima.. protect our personnel. It's going to guess worse because the Okinawa politician and media have flamed the simmering coals now...

All,

Recently, there have been six reported cases of SOFA-status individuals
being harassed off base. Most of these incidents have occurred while driving
along Route 58 between Kadena and Camp Foster.

In some of these incidents, groups of individuals riding motorbikes have
crowded vehicles driven by U.S. service members or their family members. The
individuals have shouted at the occupants of the vehicle, cut in front of
them repeatedly and, in some cases, used sticks to strike the vehicles in
order to provoke a reaction from the occupants.

These incidents have been few and isolated, and the behavior exhibited by
this small number of individuals in no way reflects the actions of our
friends in the local community. Base officials and local authorities are
working together closely to address these events. Despite the low frequency
of these incidents, all Team Kadena members and their families should be
aware of them and should know what to do if faced with similar
circumstances.

If you encounter hostile individuals or intimidating behavior on the road,
follow these important steps:

1. Stay calm and slow down. A moving car can be dangerous, and the
individuals may be purposely trying to instigate an accident. Be careful of
other motorists around you. If you need to, pull over on the side of the
road while obeying the laws of traffic. Only pull over after assessing
whether doing so will place you in greater danger. Make sure your windows
and doors are locked at all times. Consider heading toward a safe area,
such as the nearest military installation, a local police station, or a
highly public place.

2. Try to gather information on the five W's:

Ø Who (how many individuals, what kind of clothing, vehicle
descriptions, license plate #s. If it is safe to do so, try to take pictures
of the offender(s) with your cell phone or camera)

Ø What happened (what actions did the individuals take?)

Ø Where exactly did the incident take place?

Ø When did the incident take place?

Ø Why (Did the individuals say anything that you could understand)?

3. Don't respond to provocative actions with more provocation. Doing so will
likely make the situation worse and potentially cause an accident that
injures you, your family members or other motorists.

4. Report the incident immediately to local police, OSI or Security Forces.
From your cell phone you can dial 119 to reach local authorities. Once back
on base, call OSI at 632-8996 or make a report in person to Security Forces
at Bldg 705.

We are such a threat to their perfect little society that all of us who have never even thought to do something as awful as what these few have been accused of, should be caged and jailed in our homes until the "tyrants" have been pleasured by our unjust treatment and decide we are civilized enough to be streamlined into Okinawas population again.

I have an idea!!!! Since we are so inhumane and can not be trusted amongst the "normal" people of Okinawa, then they should fight for their justice and refuse to come on base to work in our "pedophilic " & animalistic environments including all shops, restaraunts, clubs, taxi services, private vendors, ID checks, Movie Theaters, Fast Food services & delivery, mainentence, housekeeping, commisaries, carwash, etc., etc., etc. I would hate for them to have to be put in that position by coming on "our" military installments since we can not be trusted and "Rack of Discprine" all SOFA status personall have been charged with. Dont let them come on base for a week and see what happens to the economy here. I know that not all Okinawans share in this atrocity of what the Japanese Govt has voiced but just like 2 bad apples spoiled it for us, we all live in glass houses and they are throwing rocks! Could Okinawa survive without any US Military installments? I think the Japanese Govt would rather detach this island from even their own perfect world up there on Mainland.

It has also come to our attention through all of this as to how many pedofiles there are amongst the Okinawans and after reading about the multiple articles about the arrests of these Okinawan sickos, I fear that since we live off base that my own children are now in danger. Also, how can we know that our safety is not be comprimised by the threats being made by the Okinawans who see all of us as criminals??? How do we know that we will not be targeted individually since the Govt of Okinawa wants to know where ALL SOFA status personnel live out in town??? :cursing:

How can one tell deliberately provocative driving/attacks from locals' regular driving? -- it all seems homicidal / suicidal to me... I agree with plan to remain in car -- not because getting out to enforce discaprine would cause another scandal but because you'd probably get hit by some other random driver watching tv and talking on their mobile phone while driving.

you must not be a Californian.. the Okinawan driver is almost as rowdy as we are... they just aren't as careful.

Triangle - that gave me the first good laugh all day - because you're right 100%. My wife hates to ride in the D-5 if I'm driving cause I get road rage real quick here - even after almost 15 years of driving here...

I was out on the HD today and had to wear the reflective vest cause I ate lunch with some friends on Foster and then had to go to Kadena so I'm sure I appeared to be SOFA when riding...I didn't see anything out of the ordinary from my perspective...just normal dumbass driving...

Seems like more BS made up by someone who's been stuck on base. So they make up a bunch of BS stories and try to pass them off as fact.

My 1stSgt told me tonight that there have been several incidents on the "blotter" similar to this, almost all involving wives, and typically after 2100. The offenders don't seem eager to target active duty folks, only dependents.
