When we are finally allowed off-base... where will you go? What's the first thing you want to do?

I plan on trying out few sushi bars or heading straight to Tonkatsu Taro.

Tonkatsu Taro sounds good, but my first stop is karubi daiho! They're both owned by the same person I think.

I will have to wait and shake the Stockholm syndrome …then maybe off to the pub!
Demand my right as an American citizen to go on base and get locked down.

Thanks...I had fun finding it :)
Cocok's is an absurdly expensive nail salon where lazy people (such as myself) pay to have their hoofs filed down and teeny tiny paintings put on their toenails. I'm sure you've seen the nail art around base. In a couple of weeks, you're going to see some ugly feet if we all can't get back there :scared:

I feel like you all have been living on a different island! Where do you get a gyro around here? Well, where would you get a gyro if we weren't all suffering from a "failure to communicate"?
My first food once the trumpet blasts bring down the walls will be Capital Steak House. They don't mind my kids coming there, so it's an easy choice (and fast)

Ahh, you'd go to Sunabe Gyros. They're not quite as delicious as Gyros you could find in the USA - I think they use a different meat - but ohh, it's delicious.
To get there, you'd go left out Kadena's uh.. Gate 1, I think, I am not familiar with their gates, but it's the one off rte. 58 :). Make the first right and follow it all the way to the end - it's on the second floor above a dive shop, I think. The people that run it are really nice :)

Sunabe Gyros uses beef and chicken. They wanted to use lamb, but it ended up being too expensive to import. I prefer the beef, my wife prefers the chicken, but both are excellent. And their pita bread is second to none!
As for me, it's Coffee Casa. It re-opened under new owners the day after the "reflection" began... talk about lousy timing. I know the owners and they've been telling me all the improvements they've made (and it was an excellent coffee shop before!). For those who think "starbucks" when you think coffeehouse, think again. You've got to find the local places like Coffee Casa if you want a real cup of coffee. :D

Hell, there's plenty of sheep right here on this board...no need for imports!

You can pay your bills now, nothing keeping you from doing that. As far as your dog, if you're in the airforce and live in an apartment off base, you're allowed to walk your dog.

How are you going to freeze an entire village in Okinawa?
I think you meant frozen GYOZA that the Chinese have Poisened....and yes, I think that would be an awful gift.
I am heading to Coffee Casa.. and Sunabe Gyros.. Gotta spread the love...
