Not sure if they have all done this, but DocP has noticed that many of the Hot Spar combini's where he lives have recently changed to CoCo!. Is the entire chain changing, or were certain stores bought out or what?

The one over by the fish market on rte 227/85 has changed also, but the one in chunjun on rte 81 across from the gas station is still a hot spar. I'd heard the chain was in trouble. wonder if this is a sign of it.

Well, Hot Spar is a mainland chain...will have to check with some friends and find out if the same is happening up there.

DocP it was on the Japanese news late last year.

HotSpar needed an image change in the on going war between the varying convenience store chains like Seven Eleven, Lawsons, and Family Mart.

I went to the northern camps yesterday and I noticed it too. There is one in Kin now that used to be a HotSpar.

believe because the chain is owned, but each store is individually owned, it will slowly trickle down. they have some of the best pan early in the morning. doesn't really matter what they call themselves, it still is a convienence close to the house, except they don't have any spicey chicken!:D

I noticed a CoCo near torii and though "what the hell". It looked pretty gay, being pink and all.

The HotSpar I went to did, and it was spicier than the one that Famima has.

.................... can you imagine how much money the CoCo's curry house

outside the front gate of Camp Foster has lost in the past week or so????

This particular location, seems to me, is an American local icon. It survives

because of the countless GI's that pack in there everyday.

I personally know the owner and managers there and yeah, they're hurting pretty bad. I've gone to eat there twice since the lockdown started (loving my non-sofa status right now) and the staff were all saying "thanks for helping us out tonight". They're desperate for customers right now.
