Crazy story, eh? Tinker was my first base (years ago) I left there and came here, stayed for 5 years and later came back for more. It's a great assignment and the base is a lot better than it was 10-13 years ago. There are a lot of new facilities, etc. They just broke ground on a new BX that will be ready by end of '09. Plus the extra money is great too. Play your cards right and you can leave here with a ton of cash stashed, or at least pay off any debt you may have.

Yeah, sad story. We live off-base about 30 min away and so I hadn't heard anything about it. I shouldn't complain about Tinker though - it's a good location for us, being that my fam is up in KS and my husband's in Dallas.
