I dread this one. It is going to start in the south and go directly up the island almost dead center, making it sure that we get whip lashed with both wind directions as it approaches and leaves.

I hope the eye is big, and then at least we may have a few hours of sun and a break. But because everything will be shut down and everyone at home, perhaps that will mean Friday lots of people will be logged on here riding out the storm.

Though, I hope Fab in Sunabe stays open for a while. I love eating kure there and watching the waves break when a typhoon is near.

Tomorrow will be a frantic day of tying everything down and putting things away in the yard. Rains are supposed to start at 6 p.m. so not much time to do all that.

I love typhoons. I finally get time to sit at home and do all the things I want to do. There's plenty of sunny weather ahead of us. As long as my internet stays up I'm golden.

I do miss the typhoons now that we are no longer there. The storm, the free days off. :)

Just looked out my window and the ocean is starting to get a little choppy. There were very few white caps once I got home around 11:20. Oh and the wind has picked up quite a bit.

I fear for my balcony! It has a hard time draining water so I think it's gonna flood a little. Whoever designed my balcony was an idiot! They put two drains on each far side of the balcony, but then sloped the balcony inwards instead of outwards!

I do not like typhoons at all. I've been through them on boats anchored in the Hija-gawa, felt pine needles piercing my skin, had boats and things destroyed, and I hate the scream of the wind.

Most of all, I hate that this typhoon is jeapordizing these tickets to Haneda I purchased three weeks ago. What timing. All I wanted to do was chill out for a few days at Rhoppongi. It aint right.

Eye is 30 nm now. (Smaller than before) but we might see some of it. I remember during Kirk, I was on a boat then too, and I broke out the grill and cooked when the eye came over. It was surreal.

imagine being on the ninth floor of a pacific ocean side apartment with nothing but leveled dirt between you and the ocean. we took almost everything from outside in today except for the BBQ, which we bungee corded to the concrete wall of the balcony. we have mostly glass for walls up here. this is a big one though.

i kept poo-pooing it to my husband, who swears that he's a hurricane/typhoon magnet. i finally had to admit to him today that he was right about this one. heh. tie the kiddies to the bedposts folks and good luck! :D

If you do make it up there, try "The First Bar" in Roppongi. I went up to Tokyo June 15 and spent most of the night there after I finished dinner with a colleague. On all the mainland-centric forums, Roppongi gets a bad rap. I suppose if you live in Tokyo you'd seek out other spots; however, for us visiting the big city from down here, it makes for an interesting night (or two, or three).

I hope this storm hits and gets on down the road by Saturday morning. My girlfriend is supposed to fly in from mainland late Saturday afternoon. Got a camping trip planned for Sunday and everything. I had a strange feeling in the back of my mind about two weeks ago that a 'phoon would be in the area this weekend.

I swear, sometimes I feel clairvoyant...

I'm liking this weather. Not really liking not being able to leave the house. We're directly overlooking the ocean, from the fifth floor, and it's just beautiful.

Sure is noisy though. Eeesh. I have a friend on the first floor who didn't take in her plants. She said there are leaves everywhere :P

There was a pigeon taking refuge next to my laundry room window earlier. My poor cat is a tad bit freaked out about all this noise, though.

Ocean side off ground level apartments facing the ocean in times like this is excellent, and really must be beautiful like you said. I envy you.

I live inland on a hill with an ocean view, but because of the distance, I really can't take in that full affect of how the ocean gets in a typhoon.

About 10 mins ago I heard a metallic sound outside and went out to look. Saw that my garbage can lid is missing. Getting soaked and blown around, I looked every where for it but couldn't find it.

Had to tie up the bag and move it under the car port.

After the storm dies down I'd like to go see if I can see the surf. While keeping a safe distance of course.

I wonder what it would be like standing on the Sea Wall in Sunabe with the wind going out into the ocean, and then suddenly opening up one of those huge umbrellas golfers use -- and hold on tight. ???

Man, really bushed today. Did a whole day of cleaning up the yard, and still all the debri is from this last typhoon, eventhough I have been working on it just about everyday am still not finished. I see another 2 weeks of work ahead.

Just totally exhausted. Natsubatte.
