Don't know if this was posted yet, but the Marine arrested for trespassing and falling asleep on someone's sofa actualy wasnt trespassing. Found out from someone who knows him that he went out with his girlfriend up in Nago and they got seperated throughout the night and he returned to her house to wait and crash there unknowingly to her parents sleeping. Makes sense as to why he was there in the first place. Who the hell parties way up in Nago anyway???

That's assuming mama and papasan are the owners of the house/land - which is likely, but not a given.

CAMP FOSTER, Okinawa — Military and local police are investigating allegations that a janitor at Lester Middle School molested a male student in a school restroom.
The investigation was confirmed Thursday by Department of Defense Dependents Schools-Pacific, but few details were released.
“We are cooperating fully with the investigation, and the employee has been relieved of duty by the contractor,” Chip Steitz, DODDS-Pacific public affairs officer, wrote in response to a Stripes query.
During a telephone interview, he said the janitor was employed by a Japanese vendor who provided services to the school.
“Because the investigation is ongoing we cannot comment further,” he said.
The incident occurred Feb. 11, Steitz said. It was made public Thursday after the mother of another student called Stars and Stripes to ask why the incident had not been reported in the media.
“When terrible things happen by Americans off base, the media is all over it, and now here we are all restricted to base,” she said, referring to the uproar over the alleged rape of a 14-year-old girl by a Marine staff sergeant. “But why hasn’t this been reported?”
The incident was not reported to the media by DODDS and reports concerning crimes on the bases, if reported to military police, are not made public.
Police logs, considered public documents in the civilian world, are not made available to the press on military bases.
Okinawa police said Thursday they are waiting for a report from military police before beginning their own investigation concerning the janitor. A police spokesman said they were informed the janitor was non-Japanese. Police believe he is a Filipino, but they are not yet sure, the spokesman said.
Steitz said letters were sent to the parents of Lester Middle School students informing them of the incident.
“The incident is under investigation,” he stressed. “We must respect the rights of the individuals involved in this matter. We take any incident involving our students very seriously. The vendor immediately removed the contractor from the school upon notification of the alleged incident. The health and safety of our students and teachers remains our top priority.”
He said DODDS has “very rigorous procedures in place to ensure that we complete a background check on any employee or regular volunteer before they are permitted access to our campuses or contact with our students.”
“This also applies to contract employees, as the vendor is required to obtain background checks through the appropriate government offices within the communities we serve,” he said.

He might be a Japanese citizen of Phils. origin. There is a large community on Okinawa.

She's got some balls bringing him back home without him meeting the parents first. I was under the impression that if she takes you to meet her parents, it means that you're almost engaged!

Maybe they were both smashed?
I was wondering how one can just go into a strange house without a key when I read about it but figured they omitted how he got in because it wasn't important or news worthy.

I see no harm in conducting a thorough background check on anyone who works/volunteers in a school environment.

Must be true that the younger generation are losing their traditional values these days. Blame it on those ugly Americans.

This why you should never get so obliterated that you don't know where the hell you are. I'm sure that is how that girl died (or got sold into slavery) in Aruba. If you are in a unknown environment, it is wise to keep your wits about you. That is just basic survival.
I would be worried about getting duped into a situation where I'm framed by a local anti-american group for propaganda purposes.
