Hi, I am new to this Forum and was just wondering if anyone out there Surfs. I am always on the lookout for new and safe surf spots. I usually just hit Sunabe because it is close, but parking there just sucks on the weekends. I have had way too many tickets slapped on my van. Anyone live close to the seawall so I can park there...i'll even pay a parking fee! Also, if anyone is selling a good longboard, let me know. Anyway, have fun surfing and be safe. :thumbup1:

When I was stationed in Okinawa, I couldn't find one spot on the island that had any waves......except Hedo Point, and I didn't think I'd like to surf into the cliffs. Sometimes I would see some Japanese guys down at the southern tip of the island, but I don't know if they were wannabees or just desperate......I didn't see much of anything in the way of waves there either. I ended up just renting a windsurfer now & then.

The area around Ekei and Henza is good, and has alot of surfers during windy days. It can get a little troublesome if you don't have experience though.. plenty of strong currents. It is only smooth a few days out of the year.

There is a little Beach/Campground just past the Navy Pier by Camp Courtney that breaks real nice when the conditions are right. It is a "bluemoon" break. Only breaks once in awhile. But when it breaks at high tide there are long rollers like east coast waves over mostly soft coral. you just have to watch out for the rocks in the water. Just watch where the locals are surfing and stay in that area. I always say hi to them in the line up.

Tengan? I live down the road from it. I think Ekei is alot more active.. a bit safer as far as coral heads too. Hit "Mamasan" beach on Miyagi, and you'll see the surfers on the right, past the second reef.
