As far as E's avatar goes, it's just an avatar. There are plenty out there that believe that even flag burning is freedom of speech. Besides, it's a picture that relates to the current activities going on. It was from 1995 when a similar thing happened. Definitely not racist.

There are a couple here that do work for AFN, but the only guy that is always right is TP, just ask him...oh, and P_Chan. ;) (j/k guys)

I gues none of us really knows the facts about this newest rape allegation, but I am a little inclined to believe that it's a little unlikely. Why is this all just coming out? This suppossedly happened Monday, Right? Hmmm, Sounds like someone just wants to be vindictive. It does happen. But hopefully the truth will come out in the end, if a rape did take place I hope the guy gets punished accordingly.

Most of the people on this forum are pretty open to different views from what I recall...but if you do post up an opinion, you should expect others to disagree with you or at least question your thinking and ask for a reason of why you think a certain way.

I only got one question as to the alleged ape by soldier boy, didn't the article say it happened in a hotel? What kind of hotel? Aren't there a few thousand hotels where people go just to have sex? I've been here over 25 years and never been in one, but I just don't think that is the place a would be rapist would take an unwilling female to rape her. Maybe I missed something in the story. And it could have been consensual until she saw the size then wanted to change her mind. But No still means NO! even if she is a hooker or thought she wanted to do the down and dirty then change her mind. Frustrating for the man, but grow up life is frustrating and you don't always get what you want.

Good ole days you had to have a liberty card to get off base, and yes you had to be in the uniform of the day, we had things like SP's, MP's and Ville patrols on the streets of the local areas were service men frequented. They walked their post in a military manner and diverted incidents from happening. Not like the "so called Curtsy patrols " I've seen here in the last 10~15 years. Where they hang around in one big group (Gaggle F*&$) in front of the bar that has the women. LAUGHING AND CARING ON, SMOKING and drinking their sodas and bottled water.
But times change I guess......so all I got to say for those that aren't Service members that have to be here,"If you don't like it here then get the F*&$ out and go back to where ever it is you came from!"" You know Love it or leave it!"
As for those that have to be here, act accordingly as you would in your own Mothers house.

Even without the raging emotions from other incidents, there's no way authorities are going to let themselves be portrayed as not treating all cases the same. The case won't just go away. If the news stories are right, and the Filipina was injured somewhere in the course of the incident, enough to require hospitalization, well gee, that doesn't bode well either.

It is different than the other one though. No underage girls involved. Perhaps an older soldier, but nobody in Okinawa City P.D. seems to have leaked that to media. Same the deputy police chief doesn't speak out like he did in the first case.

And although I'm not the first to say it on any of these forums, 'No Means No' regardless of how the evening began. If 'No Means No' doesn't apply to juicy girls, young teens who hop on a motorcycle or girls who meet guys at Mihama Starbucks, then somebody better tell AFN to stop running all those commercials
