if the lockdown is lifted...
and there is cerfew...
and E-5 and below are not allowed to consume alcohol - anywhere.......
oh well i guess its ok but I hate having to be E-6 to not be treated like a child. E-6 is hard to obtain due to limited slots in my field. Its just pointing fingers at that age group I would say...but what about 11.5 year vets?
More RHIP crap, and pointing fingers. So I guess its better than everyone suffering.

they will never ban alcohol for the sgt or cpl, maybe for e-3's and below, but nco's, not my marine corps. if that is the case, all Lt's also capt. and above ok. what a about CW0's. 2's and below off limits, 3-5 ok.

DocP believes the curfew should be from 10pm to 5am. No need to be out later than that. If you want to drink, do it on base at the club or in your home/room.

Try telling that to my Okinawan family. I can never seem to leave their house until after midnight.:D

I think a 1 am - 5 am curfew is appropriate. You have people who work a swing shift, who don't get out of work until 11pm.
If the Okinawans really wanted all the incidents to decrease they would make it against the law to serve alcohol past 1 am anyway.

When did the first incident allegedly happen? 20:30? Curfew at 22:00 still leaves enough time to get into trouble.
It might avoid some of the DUI's and alcohol related incidents, but if one wants to be just plain stupid there is no curfew for that.

Well since the SSgt lived off-base and probably had a Gold card. so he had no curfew..but as far as the DUI and break-in - yeah thats what they are trying to eliminate is the alcohol related incidents ...as I presume, more things tend to happen after certain hours at night - as they get drunker and more out of there head.

I believe there should be NO cerfew at all.
Here is the catch, Okinawa would be a special duty station that you HAVE to request specifically and it would be apporoved. You would have to prove yourself worthy of comming.
Next the newcomers brief would be done in the states before you requestit and after your are assigned it. So you get the brief twice while still in the States.
The condition before simple. Make it know if there is ONE problem from anybody in Okinawa you will be kicked out of the Marine Corps. if you have an inncodent there would be no more "if you make it to base the JPs need an indictment to get you".
It would be changed to if the JPs are looking for you the base will give your ass to the JPs. Your ass is theirs.
Basically have info on the culture, nightlife, sites things to do, historic places and get ppl who want to come here and have a great experience.
Just some suggestions from me.

Crazy thing to think about. What if there were alcohol exams? You must pass it before you get to consume alcohol. The people who take the exam have to drink lots & lots of alcohol - obviously intoxicated. Examiners will then see if they behave. Dumb huh.. I just feel goofy today...

So this has what to do with my post? Nothing!
I agree with you on this but the freedom of people to do so overrides my hate for the act.
