Based on questions and requests for exceptions already received, here
are answers to FAQs:
If you attend a school or a dependent attends a school off base, don't be late.
If you attend a church off base, don't be late.
If a dependent works off base, don't be late.
If you have bills to pay at a business off base, go pay them.
If you live off base and have to walk your dog/cat, etc, do it.
If you have a med, dental, legal, other appt off base, attend it.
If you or dependents have any type of lessons (music, martial arts, etc.), attend.
If you are going to Okuma, keep the reservation and go.
If you want to go from one installation to another for appt, BX, commissary, theater, club, the Spot, etc., go.
If you are participating in the Oki Marathon, win it!
If you are involved in a planned community relations event, attend it.
If you are going off the island for TDY, leave, etc., don't miss the flight.
If you have a scheduled whale watching tour through SVS, go.
If you are new to island and/or moving off base and house hunting, continue.
If you are purchasing or having a car maintained off base, complete the
transaction.
Some things not to do:
Go to any bar, restaurant or leisure activity off base.
Go shopping off base.
Allow your kids to go to the Dragon Palace, Seawall Family Mart, etc.
Plan/attend parties at friend's off base residences...plan them at an on base residence.
Go on sight seeing trips or to zoo, aquarium, parks, etc.
AAFES has extended hours at most locations (BX, Theaters, food courts, etc.) for Friday and Saturday. 18 SVS is making plans to handle a larger crowd at all facilities.
Take this opportunity to renew your appreciation for the privilege to live on this island and to explore things to do on all the
installations.
