I'll go out on a limb and say that Japanese teenagers are far worse than American ones (based on 2+2 personal cases). But I've also heard it said that that is expected behavior of J-teens, and they get over it and become normal members of society.

Mainly attitudes, and work ethic if you consider the effort they make in school (not much) and the way they believe that the teachers are usually wrong when they are critical. But basically, highly selfish.
