So I was driving by and was remembering that they closed that gate in july and said it was to be opened in six months and then they would close other gates to remodel them. WTF has happened and whos fault is it?

The contractor got started late. It doesn't matter too much though. This will be going on for the next two years....longer obviously since they are already behind.

What gets me is that they left the STOP sign up at that corner. What the heck are we supposed to stop for? They've blocked off the road to all traffic. Couldn't they simply cover the sign with a black trash bag, like they've done before? :rolleyes:

Yea, me and the wife were talking about that the other day too, the stop light that is, not Fonze's shaving habits. I'll be surprised if they can even get it done within the next 2 months.

I think when that opens and the spot gate closes it will be ten times worse in traffic than the spot gate. I hate how when you come out the Com gate and are turning right only about ten cars can go. So I expect way more congestion.

Moving is always an option as well. Sadly that'll be mine in a couple months.
I really do hope they get it fixed soon though. It's not that bad having to go the long way around coming from Kinser, but I do miss the convenience of it.

The thing about the Foster gates is that the entire lower Foster strip is going to be vacated within five years. But the funds to re-do the gates to make them safer against attacks is there, so the project will proceed.

The plan will last about two years- a mere two and a half years before the lower area becomes more shops on Hiway 58.
