PLEASE HELP, LOST PUPPY :confused:

Missing our 4 month old Akita puppy, answers to the name Inu. Last seen in Yogi Okinawa City area. I am so distressed and physically sick to my stomach thinking about her. PLEASE help me and offer any advice on where and how to look. Also, how do Okinawan people respond to "Missing" signs like we do back home? If this is OK to put up, could someone please tell me how to write it in Japanese or tell me where I can have it wrote in Japanese? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. My husband's deployed and she's nearly all that was keeping my spirits up. :(

If your dog is wearing some form of tag showing she belongs to a service member, she will probably find her way to Kadena kennels. They into the base recently, which may pose more of a problem for returning animals though. Unfortunately, a young Akita would be an attractive pet to keep due to their price tag off base.
I recommend giving a picture to the Okinawa police station as well.

I've got a shiba ken and I take him for walks all the time. I've found someone's dog already, I'll keep an eye out for yours.

Thank you so much for all of your help and advice. I had made posters and as I was getting ready to hang them when someone stopped me who had found her. Oh what a relief, I thought she was gone forever... with all the pet horror stories you hear.

That's good you found her! I feel sad whenever I hear someone is missing their dog. I'm a big kid once it comes to dogs, I've always loved em.

So where do you walk your akita pup?

Well she still has to get her last set of shots before I'm supposed to take her on walks, which will be at the end of the month. But until then she gets several short walks a day to the wooded area beside my house where she goes crazy running around. I'm glad you asked this because I'm been meaning to ask about the comprehensive/comprehension(?) park... are you allowed to walk your dogs here? That would be great since it's so close to where I live.

On the comprehensive park, my wife gave me a she doesn't know, so I'm not sure. I usually walk my dog the same 3K walk I do everyday. We walk down to sunabe baba park, walk along the beach and on the coral, then walk the seawall, then back to the house. It's funny how many people stop to compliment me and my dog:D A few months ago a trio of college girls from mainland (it was during winter break and they looked like tourist) asked for a picture while I was walking my dog. I said "ok" and held out my hand to take their camera. To which they responded "no, of you, me, and your dog". If only I had him once I was still single:D
