Yeah Kadena AB domain web smartfilter has now blocked one of the most useful and resourceful sites for the local area, especially for newcomers.
Yep you can no longer goto japanupdate.com while on the Kadena domain.
Its marked as travel and web hosting
looks like too many of you were on here posting at work or playing the casino/arcade ;)
theres got to be some sort of fix for this.

google "proxy sites"
I'm on Futenma and used to use Ztunnel.com, but they blocked that. If you do the google search, you should come up with thousands of options.

I've tried a littany of proxies on the Kadena firewall, all to no avail. They must have a full-time geek squad on that shit.

Why dont you kadena-ites go protest this with the leadership and see what happens. I mean it is a useful site.

A useful site no doubt, but I doubt you could justify (in their eyes) allowing the forums to be accessible...or any part of the JU site for that matter being it is not work related or required to "accomplish the mission." My guess would be they were unable to filter out just the forums so they blocked the whole thing all together.
Most likely they would tell you to stop whining and if you really need access to the JU site, then do it at home or one of the internet cafes in your off duty time.

I had mentioned to dk that this may happen, but I believe I said it after the Radio and TV functions were added. Probably too many people in the arcade and casino at work.
If people would do that stuff at home, everything would probably have been ok.
