View Full Version : Search Function here is frustrating.....
The search term you specified (JU) is under the minimum word length (4) and therefore will not be found. Please make this term longer.
Is there anyway possible to change this? For example if you type in JU this is the warning that pops up.

You have to use four letters as a minimum...also, it is best to use the advanced search feature instead of the basic search. If you know who posted a thread or in a thread, that will help you find what you are looking for a little easier.

I realize this, however is there any reason that it is set at 4 letters? Is it not possible to set it at one?
Also what reason would there be for it to be set to 4 letters in the first place?
For example try searching JAPatriot in the advance search, under keywords and User Name and see what you get.
Then try searching JA Patriot under keywords and user name. You will see another example of what I am talking about.
Sure in this case I could go to the membership listing, I am using this as one example here.
This database is using mysql's "fulltext" search capabilities, and the search term must be greater than 4 characters and less than 254 characters long. It's a database thing.
By default, your search query must be at least four characters long and may not exceed 254 characters.

It can be adjusted, but I'd rather just leave it at the default.
