What an interesting microcosm we have here of the world on JU forums. Words such as "chess, allies, alpha, cliques/tribes, draw into, attack etc..." are used to describe the going ons here -- and aptly so! And why should they not be, and why should ANYONE who uses those words to describe it be so shocked or irritated at the result from an environment that stems from them when those words are used?
It seems we crave those things in the real world, and the propensity to paint the forum with those words by using them to describe the dynamics of the forum here proves that it colors the micro as well!
Of course in the real world we crave sex, too, and we can even see a whiff of flirtatious sex here when people are drawn into conversation with some of our more "outgoing personalities" who kind of teasingly hint at it. But, admittedly, it is the rough and tumble of push and pull that moves the drama of the forum more than sexual teasing talk, just as it is in the real world, too.
It is all natural to us in the macro, and research is bearing that out:
Humans Crave Violence (http://news.yahoo.com/s/livescience/20080117/sc_livescience/humanscraveviolencejustlikesex) Just Like Sex
New research on mice shows the brain processes aggressive behavior as it does other rewards. Mice sought violence, in fact, picking fights for no apparent reason other than the rewarding feeling.
The mouse brain is thought to be analogous to the human brain in this study, which could shed light on our fascination with brutal sports as well as our own penchant for the classic bar brawl.
In fact, the researcher say, humans seem to crave violence just like they do sex, food or drugs. ...
"We have found that the reward pathway in the brain becomes engaged in response to an aggressive event and that dopamine is involved."
"We learned from these experiments that an individual will intentionally seek out an aggressive encounter solely because they experience a rewarding sensation from it," Kennedy said.
Whoa! Facinating. Forum dynamics explained!!

You know what.....you and your "partner" are the ones that refer to alliances, cliques, and or "alpha" whatever. Noone else do so.
Any references to the above have been started by you.....stop and think about that a moment.

There you are wrong. You are not privy to where some of those words originated from. I am merely recalling them.
No biggy. It is true. It has been observed by more than just myself or whoever you refer to as my "partner." Who else do you think they could have originated from to give me to speak about using them so confidently? Think!

When I used to do more film work, I used to take all different sorts of animals, mice included, onto film sets.
One of the things that was Law as far as the animal agency was concerned, was never to put too many mice into each carrier. They all got on ok, unless you put maybe two more in, then they would all begin to fight.
So, If you overcrowd the living conditions of mice, they seem to resemble humans more and more

From the “Notebooks of Lazarus Long”©
Character: Lazarus Long
Book: “Time Enough For Love”©
by Robert A. Heinlein
“By the data to date, there is only one animal in the Galaxy dangerous to man--man himself. So he must supply his own indispensable competition. He has no enemy to help him.”
“Never appeal to a man’s “better nature.” He may not have one. Invoking his “self—interest” gives you more leverage.”
“If men were the automatons that behaviorists claim they are, the behaviorist psychologists could not have invented the amazing nonsense called “behaviorist psychology.” So they are wrong from scratch--as clever and as wrong as phlogiston chemists.”
“A “critic” is a man who creates nothing and thereby feels qualified to judge the work of creative men. There is logic in this; he is unbiased—he hates all creative, people equally.”
“To be “matter of fact” about the world is to blunder into fantasy--and dull fantasy at that, as the real world is strange and wonderful.”
“Animals can be driven crazy by placing too many in too small a pen. Homo sapiens is the only animal that voluntarily does this to himself.”
…and lastly…
“Don’t try to have the last word. You might get it.”
All quotations I felt “apropos”…proving absolutely nothing, but (in my opinion) GREAT quotes never-the-less!!!

If I can put a smile on someones face, or possibly even evoke a laugh...whether intended by me, or by display of my own foolishness, ingorance, or stupidity, then I've had an extremely successful day/night.

I like Bacon...i mean i really liek bacon. On Meatless Mondays, I dont eat Bacon, but other days during the week, I have been known to slap bacon on bananas and apples. As a fatter of Mact, green apples and peanut butter just flat out ROCK !!!!

Off topic real quick: Well, SW... which do you like more?: Nice days at the beach with hours of catching wonderful waves in the tube enjoying friends and laughs, or that 10 or 15 mins of eating bacon? The latter can seriously shorten your days here on Earth lessening those wave days.
Just a thought, and you don't really need to answer me about it here. A PM will do. But I'd like you to consider thinking about it, because on the last day of our lives, the sum experiences of it we may consider to add up its value and richness, and I'd be willing to bet you'd look back and smile more at your wave riding than bacon biting and maybe wish for a few more days of the former rather than the latter.
But I think it's really great that you have given meatless mondays a chance and are sticking with it. You can testify that one's day's life quality is not shot to hell just because one foregoes meat.
Back on topic.
