Does anyone know how to 'backdoor' yahoo so i can check mail at work? Most of my friends in the states email me via yahoo, so it would be nice to be able to check it at work. I was using the uk thing for awhile, but it stopped working.

try yahoo india or australia. There are plenty of back doors. I think Ireland has it's own...or did it fall under uk...don't remember.

I tried australia already, keep getting the same message that the page cant be displayed. UK/Ireland are under the same one.

get your own domain and setup your email account and enable the webmail options...works great for me ;) Mine uses Horde or Squirrel Mail to host my domain mail and neither are blocked.

Some CGI proxies (http://www.cgiproxylist.com/) will work for Yahoo!, but I don't think any will work for Hotmail. Some workplace filters block the use of some proxies, so you may have to google for one that works.

You could also just set up a Skim email account. It seems to work where other web based accounts don't.

Be careful with using a proxy, we have had several computers taken, that were using a proxy because they circumvented the the security of the network. Most found were using a proxy for messenger, or google talk.

google talk works thru gmail.. so as long as you can log onto gmail, you can chat with anyone else that has gmail and is online. And to the OP, I would just change to gmail.. I had a hotmail account for 12 years and changed over to gmail and havnt looked back.. so much better.

I pay the extra 10 bucks a year or whatever to be able to use yahoo via POP3. Then I just open up outlook... and BAM! Yahoo mail!
