We didn't get into it until the last season.
So then we went and got season one on DVD (b-day present for the Boost)
Then for Christmas he got 2,3,4,5 & part one of season 6.
Part 2 of season 6 is still 80 bucks or something insane. So we will wait till we get through the other seasons then it should be lower
It had to grow on me. I didn't LOVE it the first time I saw it. It is essentially a MAN'S soap. :D
Boobs, ass, sex and violence all with a storyline.

that is true when you think about it, it is just a soap. thats' pretty gay, but then with the criteria litsed such as boobs it kinka redeems itself to be straight again.

Watched only one episode; didn't get me interested. After that I had cravings for Italian food. :)

Yeah, you have to watch more than one epi, if there is any hope to get interested..... I think I sat with Boost doing other things as he watched, 7 or more episodes before I started getting INto the storyline and figuring out the characters.

Yeah, whatever. Everyone's a critic.
There are soaps and there are soaps. I don't think Sopranos fans would call it a soap though. For you guys in the dark, it is (was) about a New Jersey organized crime family. It was HBO's first real blockbusterseries (Six Feet Under and Sex and the City came a couple of years later), and IMHO had the best scriptwriting and direction ever. Acting was a little uneven but the main characters were usually good.
One reason I liked it is that I grew up nearby, and it was very realistic.

Did anyone else hear about the body part stealing scam on the news today? It sounds like a Sopranos episode that was never written!
Funeral homes and crematoria were found to be taking transplantable bone and cartilage from corpses and selling them to middlemen and companies that provide tissue to hospitals.

I loved it. :thumbup1: I just finished up season 6 about a week ago. Even though I'd already heard about the strange (abrupt) ending, I was still in disbelief as I watched. I thought the same thing: "I can't believe I'll never see another episode":(

has no one else heard about them making a movie or something as a closer to the whole thing. a friend was telling me they were talking about doing that and bringing every thing to a close and finish it. it's a good idea if you think about it because if they just try and keep making season after season they are going to run out of things ie. the wife has already been crazy and almost cheated, they separtated, the daughter is off to college doing the sex/party thing and worrying mom, the rebelious son is in and out of trouble then just becomes a bum at the house. i mean there is really no where else for the actual lifeline to go. all they really have left is to keep doing mob stuff but i think it would kill it thus smearing the name of sopranos as a whole. it would be smart to do the movie idea i think because people that i have talked to are not happy with the ending as it is now, they are going to have to resolve it somehow if they want to keep the good reputation :old:

How do you think it all could be brought to a close? The ending of Season 6 WAS weird, with a nice-nice Xmas party, but .......
IT'S OVER. GET USED TO IT.

Uh Okisteve the Christmas party wasn't the end of Season 6, that was the ending of the first half of Season 6.

Yup. It wasn't so easy back before I had a DVD player - I could only carry so many videotapes back from the rental place at one time!
