View Full Version : Can you join the US Military from Okinawa with a green card?

Me and the wife have been talking about getting her a green card so she can join the Navy or Air Force is that possible?

Do you guys know anything about that?

about 8 years ago I asked about re-enlisting(cross service) and they said that I had to go back to Conus to do so.

Well the Corps will always have a special place in my heart as all the military but it just was'nt for me.

Plus it's more for me to be a dependant and for us to get SOFA status and when she gets out I'll probaly go back.

Gotta love that housing and COLA.

I'm sure it could be done Tony...why don't you speak to a recruiter? But why not just go to the AF or Navy yourself? Hell, I've been contacted 3 times in 6 years and asked to come back to service...haven't taken them up on it yet though.

The thing is though is and HM married with 3 dependants will make more money than a nurse out in town when you factor in COLA, housing and saving money on car insurrance and road tax.
