Part motorcycle, part car -- could this be the future of transportation for those who don't need a whole lot of space?
Would you like to own one -- if not for a primary vehicle, then just for a quick errand vehicle that needs to only transport yourself or one other person?
The Carver (http://video.yahoo.com/video/play?vid=465941&cache=1) is here now!
But where would I put all my junk? Perhaps no space for it would finally make me neat in my car.
I'll just keep my car. I doubt I'll be going with any of these new revolutionary means of transportation until cars learn to fly.

Not if gas prices sky rocket!
If those are smaller than yellow plates, what color of plates would Japan designate them with?
My vote is for lime green.
@dk: lol. You sound like an old man!

yeah but they don't carry anything and they don't look very comfortable to ride in. A small car like a fit would be more of a sensible choice then that.

Perhaps I could be good to go with a Carver and Segway scooter.
Vroooooom! Outa my way! Modernity on wheels a comin' through!

wow then you would really get all the girls! Now only if you could get them home. Maybe you could tow her with your carver while she's on your segway?

Don't think my wife would be thrilled to see me towing another woman home on anything.

I would definitely be willing to get one of these to commute to work in, they look like a lot of fun to drive! Almost as fun as my R1 I ride, but would be able to drive this in the rain without getting too wet.
I wonder if they will even come to the U.S. I kind of doubt it with our obsession with SUV's and such.

I think the only barrier that may keep them from coming is our crash saftey standards. I think the big auto makers in the U.S. know that they could never compete with cheap small mini cars from Japan, so as part of lobbying efforts to keep those kinds of cars out, they kind of welcome crash tests that evaluate whether or not a car can be on the market in the U.S. Perhaps that, too, could keep the Carver off U.S. roads.
There is a reason Japanese mini cars are not in the U.S. And that reason doesn't rely only on the fondness for biggness in America.

I do wish they would bring some of the kei cars they have here over to the states. I'm already thinking about getting a fit for my work car if I move back to the states. Unfortunately there is a about a $6,000 dealer mark up on the honda fit right now.
