Playstation 3 (There I said it!!!)

Just by looking at the fact that most of the active threads are about the 360, it seems theres not too many PS3 fans here.
I am the happy owner of a Xbox 360 too but I also want to pick up a 360. Im leaning towards getting the White PS3 I saw at Toys R Us up the street. Im only going to play Blu-Rays and PS3 games on it so no issue about it not being a US system. But I guess what I really want to know is:

Do any of you have PS3s, if so do you like them?
Is there some kind of a deal I can get thats better than regular price? Maybe some money off, a free game or controller? Im not set on having to get a white one but I would rather get it. If theres a deal out there thats good and it only includes the Black PS3 then Ill get the Black one. There must be somewhere I can score a deal on one of these. Thanks for your time and Im looking forward to your replies.

I'd say the best deal currently going on is the 80gb black PS3 with the Motorstorm game for 500 bucks. They also have a $400 30GB package that comes with Spider-Man 3 on Blu-Ray. If you order your PS3 from bestbuy.com you can get 5 free Blu-Ray movies by mail with proof of purchase. Those are the only deals that I know of. I like my PS3 just fine, but I still prefer my XBOX360 over it. The graphics are slightly better on the PS3, but the thing that turned me off was the gameplay. Other than the 6-axis controller, there have been no significant changes to gameplay whatsoever. And the 6-axis motion sensor is mediocre at best. I normally turn that function off on games that use it. All-in-all I think it's a good system, but it's become less attractive since Playstation has very few PS-only games anymore.

I was thinking about getting one for BD only, I think sony exclusive games are crap, maybe even throwing linux on it, just make sure if you do get one, get it fully loaded, wifi, BC the whole gambit

I want a PS3 more than I want a Wii. I just know if I buy it, I won't have time to play it right now, which is why I'm aiming more for just picking up an English PS2 since I won't feel nearly as bad about the wasted money if I neglect it. I've never cared for XBox. The first one was butt-ugly and I've been turned off ever since.

Already own the Wii and Wii Fit too. They are a lot of fun.

My son loves his PSP2 though.

Hmmm, So nobody knows of any local deals? Do they do deals here like in the states where sometimes they throw in a free game or free controller? Or are videogame systems just MSRP all the time?

I have a Wii too and its alright, my wife and daughter enjoy it alot more than me. I want the PS3 mostly for BD and for games like Metal Gear Solid and GT. Im sure as time passes the PS3 will get some better exclusive games. If I had a choice between a multi-platform game I would pick it on the 360 just because XBL is way ahead of the Playstation network (or so I hear).

Mass Effect and Oblivion are awesome RPGs. Mass Effect is the only one that is 360 only though so your really not missing a whole lot when it comes to RPGs on the 360.

Blue Dragon was supposedly amazing. Eternal Sonata (sp?), and there are plenty others. Fable 2 should be coming out in the not too distant future as well. Very excited about that one personally.

I picke d up a PS3 over Christmas and I love playing GT5 Prologue. The graphics are really nice. I do however feel the gameplay on the Wii is better, especially Super Mario Galaxy.

I think Im going to get the White 40 gig at Jusco for 37,9xx yen, unless someone knows of a better deal. I think it comes with the DualShock 3 controller too so thats a plus. Solid deal?

As good a deal as you'll find anywhere right now. And the white will be super unique to take back to the states.
