...the NFL playoff games this coming Sunday/Saturday states time at an off base location?

Since I dont get AFN I wont be able to watch the GB/Seattle game at home and am looking for a place to see it off base.

In the past I went to the Awase Meadows and had breakfast while watching the games before but since the renovation there am unsure if that is an option or not.

Does anyone here have any idea if they are still open for non SOFA status people and if they are open early enough for the game?

Thanks

Muku,

The game could be on sopcast or tvu with reasonable quality. You'll need to download free software for each.
http://www.sopcast.org/
http://www.tvunetworks.com/

Here are some links scheduled for the game.

Seattle Seahawks @ Green Bay Packers 21:30pm GMT Sat 1-12-08 (+9 JST)
tvu://63708/
sop://broker.sopcast.com:3912/39441
sop://202.190.75.149:3912/1017
sop://broker.sopcast.com:3912/40365

Also check your PM for updates.

Muku...I would be surprised if you do not have a BS tuner on your tv...the playoffs are usually on the BS stations in Japan. You might be able to find a local establishment that would show it to you.

You could always go to Kadena Golf Course as well Muku. Have a nice breakfast and watch the game. I don't know how they are about people staying for a while, but if you're a paying customer it's not like they can kick you out?

I never considered there either, thank you.:D I appreciate all the ideas, and I think I am going to try out the link that JA gave here in a previous post.

It is going to be rather early in the morning and I dont want to take the risk of getting pulled over for having too much to drink from the night before......:-|.

I will remember this though for when I have suddenly fallen ill and can not go to work on Superbowl Monday, when Green Bay makes it of course. :w00t:

The games on NHK-BS are replays, unfortunately.

One way to catch those NFL playoff games without subscribing to cable TV is thru live streaming of (independent) Fox or CBS channels (as described above).

My 2 cents...

Find someone who is able to get the channels and invite you to watch the game! Better yet... tell them you will bring the beer!!

If that doesn't work, you need to meet new people..

Hell I'd gladly have muku over to chill and watch the game. Unfortunately I don't get any tv channels except the basic japanese one's, and I'm busy that day:D

Hence the desire to find out a place or way to watch the game...plus Monday is a Japanese holiday and I am OFF:w00t:

However I really dont want to start or continue drinking at 6AM on a Sunday AM.....haven't done that since:dead: :dead: :dead: :dead:
