Wow, I just noticed rss live feed links on the main page. We're getting very sophisticated.

dk, could you tell us a bit about these links?

(I do use rss live links on my own home page for news and indices, so for the benefit of the forum in general, how does this work?)

If you have an RSS reader (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=rss+reader) or a website that is able to pull RSS feeds, you can essentially view data from one website anywhere. For instance, I have RSS feeds from about 70 different locations being displayed on a user's portal for another company I work for.

If you go to the front page of the forum and scroll down, you can see news stories from linkfilter. Those are being pulled from an RSS feed, as are the events from JapanEvents.

If you look under syndicate on the front page, you can also display threads from the forum on your own google page.

I've also set up a lot of RSS feeds for regular JU news and classifieds at http://www.japanupdate.com/?p=rss. Very useful, but very unused.

I just tried out Google's RSS reader for the first time just now. Very nice.

Since I just placed a bet with TLD on the NFL playoffs, I rss'd the thread to my homepage, plus rss'd NFL live feed. I'll let you know how this works.

Very easy to create and customize a google homepage thru:

I was wondering if the new homepage would ever get live feed so you dont have to refresh to see what somebody wrote or who came online.
