Why is it that people cannot insult the King of Thailand in the JU Forum but anybody can insult any other world leader and that seems fine here?

I'm just curious I'm not trying to be an ass.:thumbup:

I think it's a joke because once your in thailand people get pissed if you disrespect the king. Even something as simple as dropping baht with his picture on it an stepping on it would get them pissed of.

They really love their king!

And if all you others could clearly grasp this important point like brother Pchan and myself (our enlightened reasoning stems from the fact that we are members of The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster), then you wouldn't even be bringing up such a blasphemous thing like questioning why it is not ok to insult the King of Thailand.

When I was stationed at Utapao RTNB, back in '75, I saw a guy get his face blown off with a shotgun pistol. His crime, he stepped on a coin which had the kings picture on it. And the cops didn't do a damned thing about it.:army:

Yep, they do take it very seriously. It's the only place I've ever visited where people go out of their way to warn foreigners to button their lip when they make even a very casual remark. Better not to even mention the King and Queen when you're there.
