I don't know if this has been discussed before here, or maybe I just don't remember.......:)....but this is one instance that, it's just hard to have any respect for "the law", when the courts try to force Dads into financial responsibility for a child that's not his, biologically. I heard that the courts are slowly turning around on this, but not everywhere.
It's just unbelievable that the law can be this blind and not looking for the truth.......just what is most convenient.

A friend of mine was forced to pay child support for a baby his wife had while they were married. The child was not his. He and his wife divorced soon after the birth of the child. The court didn't care if the child was his or not. The Judge's decision was, "You were married to her when the child was born. You are there fore responsible for the child's support". Later when DNA testing was available he provided proof that the child was definitely not his, but to no avail.
My friend later found out, after the child had grown up, that the mailman was the father. His ex wife waited until after my friend was no longer responsible for child care payments to to tell him who the child's real father was.
Dead beat dads are one thing, but having to pay for someone else's child is wrong. This needs to change.
