So when you decide to have a drink....Ok, for some of you I realize it may be more often that you DON'T drink :D

What do you chose to enjoy?
Distilled Spirits?
Ale/Beer?
Wine/Champagne?

Is there a specific item of the category you preference?

Edited to add:
CRUD!! I meant to add a poll on there. :(

At home, it's beer. Out, it's usually whiskey on the rocks.

If you click on "thread tools" you can add a poll to this thread.

Mostly beer at home, but when we do go out it's either water, or unsweet ice tea.

Crown & Coke or Gin & Sprite at home.

Usually beer while out only cause it is significantly cheaper in comparison to mixed drinks. I can get 2 beers for the price of 1 mixed drink usually.

........Gin ......

Oh, did you say something else? ;)

Me.....Mmmm at home it is beer, I stay away from the hard stuff there.

Out....I usually stick with awamori, though on occasion I will start doing shots of Jack Daniels with my beer.

When I go out to eat, water.

I hardly ever drink outside of the house.....for that my mother-in-law assumes I am a non-drinker. Not all that bad for the in-laws to assume you are a strict prude. *laugh*

for the most part,
I only drink at home or at My parents house.
And when we were in Oki we went out once every 6-12 mths and I would drink and then we would walk home.
Personally, I found the walk home relaxing, also helps walk off the alcohol. Whats a couple miles after consuming all those calories anyways? :)

When I go out to a club, I lean toward mixed drinks with vodka like a Cape Cod or Cosmopolitan. I will also indulge in Tequila Rose and Butterscotch shots. ;) At home, I will occassionally have a shot of Tequila Rose in my hot cocoa during the colder winter months, otherwise I don't typically drink alchohol. I also don't usually drink alchohol when out to dinner.

Maybe 1 or 2 beers then awamori after that. If I go to a real bar I will try different mixed drinks if the bartender is good.

Only wine with dinner, or sometimes Japanese sake with J-food. Other times just about anything containing alcohol, but beer only in hot weather.

Normally it's beer. But sometimes I'll feel like drinking something a little harder, that will get me drunk faster. If that's the case, then it's usually a seven seven. So beer and whiskey would be my two drinks of choice:thumbup:

Usually when I go out to eat at restaurants I sometimes get blue hawaii if they serve it or mai tai. At home I drink a glass of sangria.

Sweet Tea for anti-bar.... and not with that "sugar syrup" stuff... I make my own sweet tea, since the damn Japanese can't get it right...

Same at the house...

Bars... Either Red-Bull and Vodka... or Jack -n- Coke

For me, it's usually beer, beer, beer. I hauled back about 4 cases of Michigan beer from my Christmas trip there. Here's a representative photo of the brands/styles I picked up.
http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n90/mikersoft/IMG_3375.jpg

However, I also enjoy a good single malt scotch now & then. Tonight, I've had quite a variety.. I started with scotch, then had a couple beers, then rum & coke, then back to scotch. I dunno what possesed me to switch around so much this evening. I hope I'm not paying for it tomorrow. :scared:

H&R - how about a couple of awamori suggestions. I like it (a lot) but can't really taste much difference between most of them. Now and then I'll buy some 10 year old stuff and it is a little smoother, but not sure it's worth the extra $$$.

i can taste the dif between reg and VIP Gold, much smoother. I charge 3000 yen more a bottle for the gold. but your right, if it's a money issue stay with the stock. many well to do businessmen order gold i think just for the clout and being able to do it without flinching. plus they can write it off!

At home it's beer on rare occasions (kids at the house). Out with friends, if it has somebodies name on it, or a wild animal (jack, jim, evan, wild turkey etc.) it has to be good. I'm more into european 'beers'.

I did live in MI for a year in the '70's, when Stroh's was one of the best brews around and was just starting to move from a regional brand to national. I guess they are history now.

Stroh's, I believe, was going to be bought out by Coor's and ended up going under. MI is a nice state once you head north Lansing and/or west of St. Louis. The economy blows now though.

There is new lager out in my area called Wild Blue. It's a blue berry lager. I got to sample a bottle about a month ago from a beer salesman. It is quite good. It's finally out in my area and I bought a 6 pack this weekend. The wife likes it also.

Alcohol Drink: Strawberry Daiquiri, Tom Collins, Apply Martini w/ Sprite

I do not drink a lot. Maybe 6 or 7 times a year. So I'm always drinking ice tea or water.

People think I'm weird cuz I've been on the island for almost 3 years and have never been out gate 2 street after 7pm. I don't think its weird I think its smart!:thumbup1:

Have you tried looking at the beer selection at Al-Tech or Dai Shu Han? They have a pretty good variety but are a little expensive.
