Watching it now on AFN movie. Still funny after all these years. I forgot Forrest Whittaker was in that movie even though it is a small part.

Phobe Cates what happened to her, married Kevin Kline and did not make movies anymore. I guess he is too studly for her to make movies anymore or too rich.

Sean Penn, it's just amazing "Isn't this our time" who knew that guy would become what he is now.

Sorry I am babbling, need to get that movie on DVD.:D

Yeah that one is a classic! Nice soundtrack too! Spicoli was just freakin' awesome!

Just saw on the credits "Spicoli's theme""I don't know" written by Jimmy Buffet. Never knew that one or how it goes. I guess I'll have to search for it later on if I remember.

Yeah, great flick. It's hard to believe Sean Penn played the laid back surfer type and now he looks like an A-hole. (heard yesterday he's getting divorced.) Unfortunately, when my kids see that movie and how dated everything looks.........it's almost embarrassing. But Phoebe Cates isn't dated looking!:)

Yeah...my kids look at me crazy when I watch Animal House, Stripes, or the Airplane movies!

Dam, what is it teenage angst movie day, now "Rebel Without a Cause" is on. Somebody at the AFN programming center has a sense of humor.

See right there DocP never understood James Dean or that movie until later in life.

Damn it actually looks like a good time to have AFN right now.:D

Well sometimes it's nice other times kind of frustrating.:cursing:

What pisses me off is a lot of the time ain't nothing on and then all of the sudden there's like three things i want to watch but they're all on at the same freaking time. :cursing:

I shouldn't complain it's free and better than 1 AFN channel.

I have to be in the mood to watch Fast Times, but will watch Breakfast Club whenever. There's a 20 y.o. kid at my husband's work who doesn't know the Airplane movies. It's kinda sad really. I didn't know that Phoebe Cates married Kevin Kline. I really like him as an actor. It explains what happened to her though. Come to think of it, I didn't actually "get" FTaRH the first time I saw it... heh.

I loved the Airplane movies.

One of the things that made those movies funny, outside of the sight gags, none of the actors had ever played in any comedy roles. And you could watch them over and over, and catch something new every time.

Also at the end "Coming soon Airplane III", which never materialized.

Animal House was excellent, Fast Times at Ridgemont High was okay. Ray Walston, and the guy who played the pricipal were pretty funny.

One movie that was also pretty hilarious was Smokey and the Bandit. Only the first one, the two sequals sucked.

If you're going to mention Smokey and the Bandit, I have to throw in THE CANNONBALL RUN. :thumbup1:

There are a lot of other movies that I could mention, but I'll leave it to the rest of since your memories are better than mine.:D

Did any of you enjoy SPINAL TAP? I guess you could say it's dry humor at times, but I like it.

Cannonball Run was hilarious. A lot of subtle humor. One of few movies with an All Star cast that was actually good!

one of my favorites, bought the DVD. Spacoli makes the movie. One of my favorite quotes is "It's American history I see the globe right there" or "Hey there's no birthday party for me here" classic! reminds me a little of myself in high school............
