I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and everyone here for the time that I have spent here on this forum.

I have enjoyed my time here very much, however due to a disagreement that I have with dk, and his moderators I have decided that because of a principle that my presence here is no longer welcome.

I made a request three days ago that an infraction that was given to me for using the phrase "Kiss my butt" in a reply to The Prosecutor was not, from my point of view an insult but a sarcastic reply to his post on a thread here, be removed, it has not been done, hence this message to everyone.

There was no insult intended and the infraction incurred was given for "quote.....insulting another member". I have been insulted and disparaged on any number of occasions by TP and in his signature he continues to use a quote claiming that I am the "biggest whiner" here on JU. That is an insult to me and has been for a number of months now.

However it has never been removed, no action taken by dk to have it done. Even after a number of times that I requested it to be dealt with.

This tells me that my presence is not appreciated by the admininstration of this forum, and I choose to no longer tolerate it anymore.

Things here are not going to change as long as TP is a moderator here, and I no longer want to deal with his brand of "moderation". It is unfortunate, in my opinion, that a forum with the name JAPAN in its title allows such disparaging posts about Japan and Okinawa.

Since the infraction was not removed, I no longer feel that my participation here is welcome and I must on my principle leave this forum to all of you.

I thank you all again for the time that I spent here and wish you a a great, happy and safe holiday season....and a Happy New Year!:D

This btw...no matter what ANYONE admin or moderator included says in reply here is due to the fact that the admin and mod's here have not removed the infraction....it is the principle of the matter.

I will also not send this by PM to dk or his mods because I want EVEYONE here to know the reasons, my reasons...I want to keep this in the open to let everyone here know what is going on. It is the principle of the matter, nothing more nothing less

If the decision is made to remove the infraction then that is another matter otherwise they can BAN ME......

Not taking sides for anyone, but there is a point when you can take a posting too far.

Some people have thicker skins than others, but they each have their own values. Which is to say that what's normal for you, is not received as being funny by the person that you have been taunting.

As for myself, I don't think that "Muku" should be leaving. He's not been an angel, and the other person in the equation hasn't been one either.

While T.P., has made a tremendous contribution with his questionable postings in regards to "The New Forums", some changes need to be made in regards to his behavior(and believe me, the irony has not escaped me).

What sets his postings apart from everyone else, is that he's a "Moderator". A lot of things that he's posted, hit people the wrong way. So in a sense, he actually has control over how he perceives his threads to be read by the public. He can simply delete, edit, to his desire to achieve his arguments.

No other posters out there have that ability(up to a point). Most of us can edit what we have to say, just can't make other posts go away.

Can't deny him the right to post what he wants to, but you can strip him of his rights to be a "Moderator".

My first choice would be "Tempestuous".

LOL...yep. I sorta keep my own council, use original thought in my posts, and tend to shy away from cliques, elitism, and general siding. (Even tho my spelling sucks)

I would like to add a few comments here at the request of a number of people that have sent me emails discussing this issue.

First off dk you don’t seem to get it. In the big picture of life sure it isn’t a big deal, however remember this, the members are what make this message board, not the admin, or moderators. Without members here there would be no board. To lightly dismiss any members concerns with flippant remarks does nothing to instill any feelings of community on this board. The onus is on you to create that sense of community with as much as you participate on the board yourself.

Furthermore, I recall posts made here discussing the “old” forums, the back- biting, language, harsh content etc. Seems to me, of course not knowing what the “old” one was like, that what you have here now is pretty much the same.

The focal point of that is your moderator here The Prosecutor. Whether you choose to agree, or not, when TP is online and active, there are more problems and arguments than in comparison to when he isn’t. That is a FACT.

You also do not openly listen to advice or suggestions that people have given you that could help to prevent problems from occurring. It seems as if you actually enjoy the disaccord at times.

As an example here; using double accounts for your moderators, use the log in name of mod, when moderating posts, don’t moderate threads or posts that were created by said moderator. Leave the moderating of those threads to the other mod or you. It let’s people know that they are free to say what they have to say without fear of it being deleted, edited, or moved, unless done so by a partial third party moderator. Impartiality is seriously lacking on many posts here.

You can not have a truly open and fair discussion on many threads here because there is always the constant threat that the moderator participating in the thread is going to suddenly become a hypocrite and delete, edit, or split off threads purely because he doesn’t like the content and for no other reason than that.

People stand on principles and beliefs; I stand by mine as well. We make our decisions and judgments based upon what we feel or think is right or wrong. I had no problems sharing with people here, and there are many here as well that do the same, yet I truly feel sorry for the people here that have to continually put up with the attitude that they don’t count.

I had some issues stayin connected the last two days. Kinda annoying, but when I have made it in, yeah I noticed there has been a little less business goin around.

People may be busy with holiday parties, shopping, get togethers, etc.
We will likely see an increase when Christmas has passed and people have a few down days & nothing else to do.

I agree...well kinda. Perhaps on Muku's side it takes 3 or 4.

Muku's mode of operati has been that whenever moderation by me occurred to someone else (a particular group of 2 or 3), he would come lawyering for them and at times (if not most of the times) create threads moaning about the action as a third party. And it wasn't like he put in a few words, but would add and add and add posts until we had these super large threads going on for pages and pages over days, that there really was no need to, even after the forumgo made it pretty much clear on the opinion of the issue. I mean, that gets ridiculously tiring after a while and draws others into it who would for the most part not even care so much about the point to blow it up way out of proportion like he has.

Though, I am sure he won't be able to resist coming back and denying all that or spinning it differently. We'll see.

P, of course I make controversial topics, and yes at times I do so in a provocative manner with satire and parody. Biting satire and parody have often been used to examine controversial topics. If one is offended by satire and parody then they can choose to not view it. Simple? For example, you can choose to not watch The Family Guy or SouthPark or Bevis and Butthead with all their biting comments on society, religion, and history, and those creators who go about putting their opinions out there do not walk tip toe around the issues. But, you are basically saying we shouldn't have the right to parody or use satire as they can.

This is exactly the kind of message that proves "beyond a doubt", that TP feels protected. And he could only post this kind of a response (childish as it is), because he is a "MOD".

I actually got a nice chair for sitting in front of the tv and playing video games for 70 bucks. It's better then any of those video game chairs that sit on the floor, and cheaper. Of course it's regular price was 145.

As for the first part of the question, I don't have anything against any group that wants to fight for what they believe in. When the protests become violent, where innocent peoples cars are blown up/houses burned down, when nails are driven into trees to cause intentional harm to a logger, then the names that I have applied to those groups, are valid. I have nothing against those who demonstrate peacefully.

As to the second part of the message, I could care less what you use as your signature line. If mine offends you, don't read it.

As far as respecting other peoples opinions goes, I do. While you may think that your attempt at satire is funny to you, it certainly is not to others. P_chan is a good example for my argument. While you thought that your post would draw in a crowd (and they usually do), your posts tend to gather negative responses because of the subject line. You seem to intentionally post irritating messages, without considering the feelings of those people who actually deeply believe in the convictions that you continue to rail against.

P_chan was offended in this instance, and rightfully so. Your post in the thread he's attempting to debate, insulted the Miyakan's. While there may be some validity to your argument, the people over there have evolved. I have too, being German, I don't run around persecuting Jews.

No it isn't, but you've made some points. What you fail to understand, is that some of your posts are offensive to others. My postings to you at times may be offensive as well. They're not meant to be, you assume them to be because of my "Habu" alter-ego. And I won't fault you for it.:cool:

As NBTP, however, I would have to say that while your intentions "may" be in the interest of starting a discussion, you fail to take into account the sensitivity of your readers. If one of your posts generates a response that you feel is uncalled for, you slap the responder with a "Mod" message. The reason that the person responded to you in that fashion, who may have been offended by your message, seems to be lost on you.

Let me ask you a hypothetical question. I don't know you, so while standing in line at a convenience store:

"Why did you marry a Gook?"

You wouldn't be offended by that, to the point of getting violent?
