The AFC is a joke! You can't tell me Willie Parker deserved a pro bowl slot over Fred Taylor! Taylor has been overlooked every year, and this year he's been tough!

You also can't tell me that Garrard doesn't deserve a spot...first year as a starter and his team will be in the playoffs. His TD to INT ratio is awesome too!

Add to that the LT made it as a RB again...and he's been off this year. Granted that was mainly due to the offensive line, but still LT just wasn't getting it done until lately.

Adrian Peterson made it as a rookie...and he damn well deserves it! By far the best back in football this year!

What do you guys think?

I think there were so many mediocre players in the AFC that they probably just pulled names out of a hat. Well except for the Patriots.

Doc,

First off i do agree that Taylor should have got it too and has been overlooked every year (which is crazy, i think he is the only one in the top 20 all time rushing list that hasnt made 1 pro bowl) and this year has better numbers than almost everyone. He should have made it but not more votes than willie parker or LT. LT has not had an off year, he was off to a slow start but is not back to his usual self. Reasons
#1= LT is the hottest Back now, not Peterson. LT and the Chargers are 8-2 last 10 games. He is avg more than 146 yds/game his last 3. Has a 198 yd performance and has 14 TD(1st NFL) 1311 YDS rushing (#2 NFL) 0 FUM (1st NFL) and ahs 57 catches as a RB for 461 YDS. Looks like he will go over 2000 total yds again this year for another spectacular season.
#2= Willie Parker is #1 in rushing yard, LT is #2 Taylor is #6.
#3= LT has 93 ypg, Parker has 87 ypg, Taylor has 77 ypg (big diff.)
#4= LT is #1 TD with 14, Parker has only 2 TD and Taylor has only 4TD (huge diff)
ETC.........
Now for GARRARD;
Garrad isnt doing bad at all, but his stats are not good enough...reasons:
#1= his passing yards are ranked #17
#2= TD's are rank #15
#3= Completions rank #20 and attempts #20 too. so it isnt his fault that his stats arent higher cause he isnt passing enough. His rating is top 5, td to int ratio is top 3 but all of this isnt good enough to get a trip to the pro bowl. All he has is par stats. Maybe next year...

Yeah I know what you are saying about stats...but the Jags wouldn't be in the hunt if it weren't for Garrard and Taylor!

Guess your right but no team can win it without a combo QB/RB...

How about the Ravens?

ravens had mcnair, when he is healthy, and mcgahee...they have derrick mason at receiver and always had an awesome defense with ray lewis...they cant win it with kyle boiler...they are 4-10 now cause no healthy steve mcnair...cant win on run alone, still need a little passing..even the bears had some pass game alst year going to the super bowl

The 2000 Ravens won the Super Bowl with a rookie running back (Jamal Lewis) and two very bad QB's (Trent Dilfer and Tony Banks). They were 23rd in passing yards that year! So you can win with only a RB and a defense.

they still had over 3,000 yds passing...they used 2 qb's all year...also lewis was a rookie, but a very good rookie..over 1300 yds..also they had shannon sharpe (best t.e. ever to play) Qadry Ismail and Brandon stokely at wr...also had Priest Holmes at rb too...so they had a 1,2 punch at rb...and 2 rotating qb's also...

Doc, are you a Jags fan? Just so you know, Fred Taylor isn't even the best running back on his own team. He's mediocre at best, and he's getting old. He will be the second or third running back in history to go over 10,000 yards and never even get considered for the Hall of Fame. Terrell Davis would get more votes than Fred Taylor to go the the Hall. How bad do you have to be to go for over 10,000 rushing yards and never play in one Pro Bowl? The guy is always hurt, and is mediocrity at its best.

Willie Parker was leading the league in rushing yardage until his injury and this is his second Pro Bowl selection. Additionally, he has won a Super Bowl, and scored the longest TD run in Super Bowl history. What makes you think Fred Taylor deserves to go more than him? Every running back chosen for this year's squad was way better. LT, Fast Willie, and Joseph Addai. Does Taylor even have 1,000 yards yet this season? The only time Taylor ever plays well is against the Steelers, and I have no idea why. Unfortunately, he'll end up at the Pro Bowl because of Fast Willie's injury. So it looks like he will make it,

Neither should make it, they both suck. What is all this "get on the Fred Taylor bandwagon" B.S.? He's garbage. After this year Garrard will be too.

Was that not enough for you? You want more Jaguar bashing? Dude, I simply hate the Jags, they beat the Steelers in a game the Steelers should have won, and if you look at the Pro Bowl, No Jags are there for a reason--They aren't as good as you think.
