I really doubt I'll be able to make it, but if any of you are into the whole clubbing scene, Hinotama Hall will be holding it's 18 Year Anniversary party this Friday. The club is down in Shintoshin within walking distance of the Naha Mainplace Shopping Center.

If you catch a cab, the driver should know how to get you to the club. Just tell him Shintoshin Hinotama Hall.

I'd really like to attend this party, but I doubt I'll be able to make it. :(

I always enjoyed going out with my friends drinking at clubs but I never really enjoyed the club scene. Just seemed like a waste of money and way too much drama. It cracks me up once my wife tells me one of her friends was looking for a guy to have a serious relationship with at a club. That is the last place you look or a serious guy. Not saying it doesn't happen, but your chances are slim.

Lol I met my wife at a club. We were both organizers at the time.

Not really sure where you get the idea that clubs have more drama than anywhere else. It's all about the people you hang with. If your friends are drama whores, you're going to get stuck with drama.

yeah exactly thats why I only go to the club with my friends. But there are still a lot of people at the club who bring their drama with them and it sometimes falls on you. Kinda like if you accidentally bump into someone, step on their shoes, or are looking their direction and they automatically want to fight.

Hmm, I've never had any problem in Naha clubs. You might have been clubbing too near to the bases. :p I prefer to go to Naha anytime I have the urge. Nobody ever complains if you bump into them at Hinotama Hall.

you are SOOO right!

you just got to look for what suites ya, im a big deadhead, benn to many a show, got to okinawa and was bummin for some sound. caught a cpl good japanese jam bands that came here but there was a definately a whole i couldnt fill from the music scene in the states......my good okinawan friend kazu was always trying to get me to go to some trance partys and i was like nah...not my thing. ive been to some raves in the states and it was just a bunch of little kids trying to get as ****** up as poss and walking around with passifiers in there mouths blah-blah-blah.
anyways, i finnally gave in and went to an outdoor party way up on top of a mountain in the jungle up north and was blown away, im 28 yrs old and i was younger then most, little kids and dogs runnin around and all my other okinawan friends where there and it was like...i arrived to where iw as supposed to be.

its all on where you go, stick to the clubs on gate 2 and thats all your gonna get, branch out a litte and you never know

The dead is great music. I feel ya about having a hole after coming from the states. My friends and I used to try to make it to as many concerts as we could in the states (phish, ekoostic hookah, etc) but after I moved back to Okinawa I've always felt a little empty from the lack of good solid live bands. Sure, there's gate 2, but I want the jam band scene. I like being surrounded by hippies. :p I like not standing out in my tie dye! hehe.

Anyway, glad you made it up to one of the mountain raves. I've been wanting to make it to more parties, but my 10 month old daughter kind of keeps us stuck around the house. Maybe after she grows up a little. She seems to really love music. :D She mellows out anytime I'm playing trance hehe.

ekoostic hookah!!?? you gotta be kidding me. ive seen them, no kidding like 200 times. you must be from ohio? anyway we seem to have some common musical interests. about your 10 month old daughter, dont sweat it! our daughter just turned one and she has already been to 3 outdoor shows, the first one was new years, she was 5 months old! my wife makes baby wraps and she just sleeps away while jen is grooving.

Awesome. Yeah, I went to college in Ohio. I was there for three years, so I really enjoyed the ekoostic hookah shows. Really wish we had bands like that over here... Hookaville is by far my favorite concert I've ever been to (two of them). Great memories!

Nah, I went to a little Christian college for 2 years... painful two years...

My friends loved Ben Harper. I respect him as a musician, but I never got into him for some reason.

But I believe I MAY have seen hookah at the Newport. i can't remember the clubs' names I've seen them at, but that name sounds familiar.

Man, I think I did go to the asylum. I can't remember much about it though. All the names and places are starting to get a little foggy in my memory.
