Yeah, I know MadH. I made the thread specifically BECAUSE so few fighters are vegan and to highlight a successful one. Note the thread title about the person the thread is made for.
Please, if you want to post some pics or vids in here, do so of Mac Danzig. Hell, he has lost 4 times. I don't mind you posting pics of those fights where he gets his ass kicked. But, if you want to post on another fighter and proudly exclaim that he eats meat, then do so by making a thread for them.
Thanks.

I'll add a few excerpts from an interview with Mac Danzig between some more videos.
What made you go vegan? How long has it been? (http://www.peta2.com/outthere/o-macdanzig.asp)
Ever since I can remember, I’ve always had a profound respect and interest in nature and animals. I guess it’s just in my blood. I grew up poor by American standards and was raised to eat whatever we could afford. I remember being 13 and seeing a truck on the interstate filled with pigs all headed to the slaughterhouse. One of them made eye contact with me for a while. It was one of the saddest moments I can remember. There was so much intelligence and spirit in him, and here he was, being sent to an awful death. …
Has being vegan helped your training and helped you maintain your weight class?
Absolutely. When I decided to go vegan, I was able to make the 155-pound weight class much easier, and I haven’t lost an ounce of muscle. I’m leaner than I used to be, and I have much more energy than I used to.

Didn't figure you to be much of a MMA fan there, TP.:D I'm going to have to look up some more info on that guy. What ever his diet is and training methods they seem to be doing wonders. I'm very interested in what his daily diet and training regiment consists of.

Feedin' ya some more of that vicious vegan, King of The Cage champion Mac Danzig. Here he goes up against Brazilian ju-jitsu fighter Frank Kirmse, the lion killer who plans to take Mac to the ground and rear choke him out.
Look how it goes down:

Here is a short training vid of his routine in the gym set to some music. The first 2 mins I think are punching combos and then after that he moves on to some other stuff.

Just recently Mac Danzig has been chosen by Men's Fitness magazine (http://www.mensfitness.com/fitness/288?page=1) as one of the fittest persons in America. Here are some excerpts of his interview with them:
MF: Your path to being a vegan started when you cut out milk in 1999. And that was due to an allergy?
MD: I would always get these inner ear infections and never knew what the problem was. Sometimes allergies develop as you get older, or they can get worse. I was right out of high school and I was getting vertigo real bad from the infections. I did some research and found out that milk allergies can cause those problems, so I cut out all dairy products and I haven't had a single problem since.
What made you decide to stop eating meat?
MD: When I was 16, I cut out beef and pork. I just got to the point where I wanted to minimize my intake of animal products. I knew about factory farming and the theories that meat wasn't safe, but I subscribed to the theory that if you were doing something athletic, you needed to have protein, so I kept eating chicken and fish. But then in 2004, I got to the point where I was sick of eating chicken. It started grossing me out for some reason. I was about a month out from a fight and I decided I was going to cut out all meat. I was working with a trainer who was vegan and he helped me make the switch. I won that fight and went on a 12-fight winning streak. And [not eating meat] made it really easy to cut weight for that fight.

A little more from the article (http://www.mensfitness.com/fitness/288?page=1):
MF: How about an animal abuser or a factory farmer?
[Laughs]MD: This is just a sport for me. It's not about animosity and wanting to be violent. I wouldn't give those people the satisfaction of fighting me in my sport. If I had to take care of one of those guys, it would be in a back alley with a baseball bat [laughs].
Sounds like Mac has some Animal Liberation Front blood in him.

You should check out Luke Cummo, he's in the UFC and a Vegetarian. He also drinks his own urine, seriously. I don't really like Danzig, seems like a prick. But Cummo seems pretty cool. They were both on the Ultimate Fighter series.
