I am starting this thread because I wanted to put in a few words of support for socal.

Within the next few days or so she will be delivering her baby and as a member here of our little community I wanted to pass along my best wishes for a safe delivery of her new child.

Having a baby puts many things into perspective about life in general.

I wish her the best of luck!

The journey is soon to begin.....come on folks lets give her our support here!:first:

Since I can't think of a smart ass thing to say, I'll wait until she delivers the thing, then say congrats.

She is already a mother though.

Dont socal dont, whatever you do, even if you have to put a plug in it, dont have it on the 15th. BELIEVE me you dont want your child looking like P_Chan, heaven forbid.......imagine a mixture between Alien, The Predator and Freddie Kruger and you will get an idea of what P_Chan looks like only that combination would still be better.:-|:D:D

Sorry P you set yourself up for that one, and I didnt want socal to get scared!:D

It's very sweet of y'all to support me in this whole giving birth for the first time at my "advanced maternal age" (yes, that's what they call it - buttheads) even if you don't know me - technically. I'll keep y'all updated as best I can. I'm due on Tuesday. Half the people I know say first births are late, the other half says early. (o.O) Yeah. They also said that morning sickness would only last a few months. LIARS! I had morning sickness yesterday. Anyhow, if y'all don't hear from me next week for a while, then I finally had the parasitic zygote and it's now a beautiful butterfly...

Ran into an Okinawan lady friend at the gym yesterday who said her sister-in-law's sister living in Utah just had twin girls..... at age 53.

Count your blessings Socal, and consider asking to get your tubes tied while you're in the hospital!

socalheart

We've already discussed it. If they have to do a c-section, they might as well tie the tubes while in there. Otherwise, it's all about the drugs. I'm still trying to get him to do it instead of me in that case, because gawd only knows what damage that many drugs over a long time can do to my system. heh. I can't imagine being 53 years old with one kid much less twins. She'll be over 70 years OLD when the kids are done with high school. Holy crappities! :scared:

Socal,
Your not that old. Tubes can be tied anytime. You may find that you enjoy motherhood so much that you may want more children.

LOVE the butterfly analogy! :D

Eh, you are good not to believe 'em. No body knows for sure.
Each body & every baby is different.
I had a friend who was dilated to a 5 before she even went into active labor with her first.

Good luck!

Best of luck with your new baby, socal. We hope that it will be healthy, that your delivery will be routine, and that it looks like you if it's a girl.:D

As for atb35, how many children have you delivered into this world? Being a man, and not having the same organs as a woman, I would think that having to give birth to a baby with our plumbing, would be anything but "fun and exciting". j/k:old:

Babies do sleep a lot. My baby likes to sleep while we're awake, and be awake while we're trying to sleep. Typical. She also likes to eat a lot. She poops a lot also, but I don't think she actually likes it. She tends to turn red and make unhappy noises during the process. heh. I do spend a good amount of time in the recliner right now. The whole childbirth thing is a pain in the ass... literally.
