AU
I had Docomo for years, but would lose service at work, at the PX, any big building ect... AU.. no problems anywhere. Hear good things about softbank too.. but never had one.

Each person will have their own preferences. Your options are docomo, AU, Softbank, and Vodafone...I think that is all of them...actually vodafone may have been bought out, I can't remember.
I personally have only used AU and docomo...and I absolutely love docomo! Their service area isn't as large as others, but they are still growing in Okinawa. I rarely have cutouts (only on Kadena...in certain spots) and the price and service are great.
Here are some threads that discussed cellphones:

docomo information in English (http://www.nttdocomo.co.jp/english/)
Softbank info (http://mb.softbank.jp/mb/en/)
Hope this helps

It used to be Docomo, but I would have to say AU hands down. We have had as many as three different companies cell phones in my house at once. I have AU, wife had docomo and son had voda. Voda absolutely sucks, he had to go outside the house to talk, like I said, Docomo isn't bad. But, my AU works 98%of the time. On occasion, I lose signal while deep in the BX but otherwise the only place I have lost it was while in the Aha or Benoki Dam area which is way down in. Softbank has very cheap plans but there reception is sketchy too. AU probably has the most expensive plans but it all depends how important always recieving a call is I guess.

Thanx so much for the replies. I figured th topic must have been discussed in the forum before. There is soooo much reading to do and only so much time to do it. Thank you Doctorp for the links! I will be doing my homework!
Cheers, Chris
