Just saw the write-up on it in the newspaper today. That means today, Saturday, was probably the one week prior prescreening before it coming out for its regular run -- starting next Saturday. If my mother in-law were not here, I and my wife would have probably gone to see it tonight.
Looks good and am looking forward to seeing it. The review was good as well (3 and half stars/5).
One thing I am worried about is the sub-titles. Mel Gibson had the actors use the Mayan language, so I am wondering if the Japanese distributor kept the English sub-titles at the bottom and put the Japanese sub-titles running vertical along the side.
In Mel Gibson's Passion of the Christ they did not do that, and I was a little perterbed by that. There was only Japanese sub-titles at the bottom. Good thing I already knew the story.
But, if they do the same thing with Apocolypto it will be a Japanese and kanji recall lesson. I hope not.
