View Full Version : Individual Deaths

Most of us are bothered by the deaths of family and friends, but how about high profile people we've had no knoweldge of other than their appearance on the news, or perhaps celebrity deaths?

I'll start:

Steve Irwin: I didn' care that he met his end the way he did. For one, he was doing what he loved to do, and two -- I never liked the fact that he made a living stressing animals out and showing others how to act irresponsibly toward them. I wasn't happy that he died -- just indifferent about it. Though, it is sad that his family is left without a husband and father. Another reason to accept that we are not sole owners of our own lives. Others have emotional investment within us, and, therefore, we disrespect them when we are reckless with out lives.

Princess Dianna: It bothered me deeply, particularly imagining camera flashes going off around her while she was in the last gasps of life laboring to breath.

High profile deaths have never really affected me. I feel bad/sad for the family, such as when Steve Irwin died I felt bad for his wife and two young children. But I have never cried over a famous person's death.

David Kellermann: This had an effect on me. I wish more of these corrupt bastards would follow suit.

Yeah, I have to agree with this......especially when I see daredevil stuntmen on TV who have a family......and there's the kids standing by, watching their daddy jump his motorcycle over 100 cars or whatever......every time I see that, it just saddens me to see the guy's family sick with worry. Yes, definitely selfish IMO.

Is it selfish, or is it just the way that this guy makes a living? Sure he is doing something dangerous, but, especially if he was doing htis when he met her, she knew who he was and what dating him entails. Its not different than marrying a rock/movie star and then wanting to mad because they are away from home all the time, or marrying a doctor, and getting butt hurt because they are on call all hours of the night. it is what it is.

TUPAC. C'mon man. Women were crying their damn eyes out over this. Why? They didn't know him. They more than likely were never going to meet him. Geez. Funny though, there was not that type of response for B.I.G. I guess if chicks don't think you're hot its not as sad?

None really bothered me that much, but if I had to pick I would say Princess Dai was a shocker.

Never really gave two shits when someone "famous" died. Don't really know the person so why would I care when they died?

What get's me about the Princess Diana's death is it is ALL her drivers fault and maybe her own fault. They didn't HAVE to SPEED to get away from the poperazzi. They made a choice to speed, endanger themselves and others. They could have just let pictures be taken and go on their way but they had to be big shit instead.

I felt bad that she did die but not enough to loose sleep over it.

I was more sad when Soundgarden broke up than I was when Kurt Cobain blew his brains out.

We all knew Kurt Cobain was going to OD eventually anyways but he seemed to preferred the faster route.

Maybe... if she did, it was the smartest thing she has ever done and will ever do.

I guess everyone needs a good moment to reflect upon in their life.
