Hope this isn't a repost. Figured this video deserves its own thread other than a place in the funny video depository.
If such a thing is a possibility it sure does make all of our problems seem petty and small. All the things we think of as important such as war, animal rights. oil. global warming/climate change, and thread jacking, are dwarfed in comparison to this. In all actuality this really does point out that human beings really can't "save" the planet... we can only do as much as possible to keep it livable for us.

Pretty interesting video. I imagine at least death would be quick and painless.

Curious.....would the atmospheric composition change enough and fast enough that many of the oxygen breathing beings on earth would actually die from asphyxiation/suffocation rather quickly after this all started?

I thought the same thing. Wonder if that is what happened to Mars??? I mean, they say there was evidence that their once laid river beds but now it is all dry and sandy.
Very interesting video!!

Very interesting video. It's one of those circle of life things, eh? I'm sure death of all living things is guaranteed, give or take the random single cell micro-organism. How painless death would be might depend on proximity to the impact point.

Such an incident could have led to the birth of complex life in a Proterozoic Earth, to the extinction of dinosaurs and the drifting of continents.
Life is beautiful, one day at a time...
Fire is beautiful too. I'm sure that'd be neat to watch from the moon. :D
