To understand just how far Shaquille O'Neal's game has fallen as he's reached age 35, let's review what made him such a dominant player.

Shaq possessed three incredible abilities in his prime:

1. He was the biggest and most powerful guy on the court.

2. He had the agility of a far smaller man.

3. He had the disposition to dominate everyone and everything that challenged him on the court (except free throws).

No other player in NBA history has ever had all three of these "talents" working together the way Shaq did. So what happened? Age, team, no Wade or Kobe? Tell me you view points on this topic!

Kareem would have schooled Shaq!

I can't remember the sportswriter who said this, but I recall them referring to Shaq as a freak of nature and his dominance was due to his size which was mainly the only reason for his success. At some point size can trump over skill or make up for a lack of it or talent.

Would any of you hold that same view of Shaq and his situation?

Isn't Shaq kinda known for being lazy and undisciplined with his diet?

Wasn't Wilt the Stilt the man??

he was lazy and had a poor diet, but the thing is, no one could have gone against him in his prime...his size and ability was unmatched throughout history

Wouldn't it seem logical to say that his great ability was for the most part based on his great size?

Saying that his ability was unmatched is a stretch...size I understand though.

Wilt and Kareem could shoot...Shaq wasn't much of a threat outside the paint.

doctor p...wilt and kareem could shoot but i am saying inside the pain..no one could've been able to even keep up with him inside...Outside he has never had a game, but inside....he's unstoppable

I think shaq has limited potential maybe only in close games. where there is a chance for him to get fouled and shot free throws.

Unstoppable in today's game...who can match him man on man? Yao?

Wilt and Kareem would have posed problems for Shaq.

even Dennis Rodman used to give Shaq-foo some problems.

Foul-a-Shaq. He never overcame his foul shooting and was actually a liability at the end of many games. Also, seems relatively easy to foul bait the "Diesel".

"The Flash" and "the Diesel" need a supporting cast as never before.
