It's happening here....starting with TV commericals. That's according to the cable guy. :) Not worth buying the HD TV for yet. Heck, we barely got cable as far North as Kadena.

I saw a TV commercial saying Japan is switching to HD TV by 2011? My Japanese is limited; that's all I could've guessed.

there is special boxes though so you dont have to buy a whole new t.v.

You can still use your analog TV if you have cable.
