I'd have to say when we went to the baja california. my uncle has a house right next to the beach about 8hrs south of san diego. Huge fish huge crabs and beatiful white sands. Also when I was about 3 parents took us to the mayan pyramids but dont remember. Would like to go there soon.

Vacation???
Sydney, Australia when I was fifteen.
Loved the Opera House, zoos, and kangaroos, but as a fifteen year old, man I loved that girls went topless at beaches on the gold coast. :D That hit me like a hurricane. I remember thinking to myself, "heh, that dude has boobs... oh... oh my god!"
Fun boogie boarding too.

I think I was about 7 we went to my oldr cousins wedding in Tobago (small Caribbean island). It was the first time I realised how big my family was. We went to a water fall and spent a good portion of the time on the beach till the day of the wedding. What I remember most was the food at the wedding..curry duck man was it good!!

I haven't been on a vacation in about 3 or 4 years now. Last nice one I took was once I went up to glacier national park in montana. Oh, I went to yellowstone once too. But it was winter so I could only see the hot springs. Bought a cool book about deaths in yellowstone that is really interesting.

Yeah, it's been about two years since I last had a vacation, and that was only for a week. The last good one (3 weeks in Hawaii) I had six years ago... So, yeah, I'm definitely due. If I don't take a vacation soon, I'm going to snap.

I was home back in 2005 but that wasn't a vacation. I also went to miyako island for about 3 days but that wasn't a vacation either. Last REAL vacation I took was back in 2003.

I have to vote for Yellowstone and Glacier as well. Absolutely beautiful place, and you can spend several days just touring the different areas of the parks and camping in a different area each night. The Grand Teton's are absolutely beautiful!

I feel ya, man. I've had a few "breaks" but no real "vacations" in a while. A vacation isn't a vacation unless it's at least two weeks long. Especially if it involves a flight to the states. A seven day trip to the US is more work than a vacation since you're jetlagged the first two or three days anyway.
I'm determined this year. I'm taking a month off as soon as I find a chance to do it. I couldn't care less if it causes either of my jobs a problem. They can suck it up. And if it's too big of a problem, I just won't bother coming back. :p

I prefer glacier a little more then yellowstone. I didn't get to see all of yellowstone, but glacier just seemed more wild. No elk just walking around shitting all over the place.
dk: Yeah tell me about it. I plan on taking a vacation to go to my sisters wedding back home in july. Tickets are going to be outrageous (around $1400 a ticket).

I think a great "adult-like-a-kid" vacation would be a trip to the Skip Barber Racing School for a week.
http://jalopnik.com/5391116/skip-barber-teaches-us-how-to-beat-bob-lutz
The cars we were driving weren't just plain Mazda MX-5 (http://jalopnik.com/5313617/2009-mazda-mx+5-miata-first-drive)s, but Cup Racecars. Over the standard vehicle, they add a $5500 Mazda racing package that includes a new intake and exhaust, boosting power from 167 to 200 HP. There's also remote reservoir Eibach dampers, considerably stiffer Eibach springs, solid antiroll bars, racing brake pads and 225/45WR-17 tires. The cars are also stripped of their interiors and soft tops, have a full cage welded in and you sit in racing buckets with five-point harnesses facing a removable wheel. The whole thing weighs just 2,600 Lbs. In short, it's a real race car with much improved throttle response, steering and outright grip. It's an extremely neutral car that'll understeer if you push it too fast into corners and let you tighten your line if you lift the throttle, making it near perfect to learn on.

I bet a vacation for dk and blues would be Bill Gates giving them a tour of Microsoft plants and showing them all the neat stuff that's in the works.
Every day between 4:30 PM and 6:30 AM. And from Friday @ 4:30 PM until Monday at 6:30 AM!

The year before I joined the military(1999), me and two buddies built a very large Jeep. We drove it from Texas all through Mexico and stayed in Cancun, Cozymel and Play Del Carmen for about 2 weeks. Then we drove through Guatemala and Belize for a couple of more weeks scuba diving and checking out all the ruins. We got to the Hoduran border but didn't cross because of some bad stuff going on to Americans on the other side of the border. We actually took this trip twice. This was our second trip. Our first one we just drove through Mexico.

Yeah, I'd like to see the future of development tools. I'm particularly excited about Microsoft Surface.

I have a few days off official days off in the winter, but I hardly consider three or four days off a real vacation.

8 week (paid) sabbatical after 7 years of employment with Intel
The downside of that was depression of returning to work.. I didn't get shit done the first couple weeks back...

Had my honeymoon in Kyoto...6 days IIRC. It was fantastic, only thing was we tried to go in fall so we could see all the leaves changing, and by the time we got there they had already fallen. Also, Kinkakuji was under renovation, so we got to see it through the scaffolding...fail.
Other than that though, badass vacation! Would love to get up there again...wish it wasnt so damned expensive to fly up to mainland.
