Today i finally recieved my linksys router and my vonage modem. Now when i was setting up the network in my house and connecting everything and thought it was going to work well i didn't get any internet connection. I set it up exactly how it was when we were station out in california. (My ISP is mediatti.) i was able to obtain an IP address but for some reason its not going out. The IP is in but i guess the packets are not going out through the router for some reason. my vonage is not connecting as well. I can't seem to figure out what's going on. any suggestions will help.

The first thing I would do is go to the linksys web page and update the firmware for the router once you have the router up and running with a computer using the internet then add the burden of the vonage modem. not sure how computer savvy you are but one system at a time to keep track of error codes and it should go a little easier. If you need assistance PM me I am pretty good with this kind of stuff.

Is your router picking up an IP from your ISP? Or are you talking about your PC picking up an IP from your router? You may need to put static DNS entries in the ip configuration of your router. I've had to do that in the past. I just set up a Vonage for a buddy of mine last week so PM me if you need help.

The first problem is Mediatti, they suck....

But seriously, one problem I had with the same setup at first was that I tried to go from the modem to the router, then out to cpu, vonage and xbox. For whatever reason, that doesnt work with vonage, you have to go through their router, then to the linksys and out to the cpu and whatever else.

Dont know if that is the problem, but that is what I had issues with.

shit, that sucks...try and run it through your vonage modem to the router, not sure if it will help, but worth a shot.

We had a similar problem as well. Something that might help is going into both your vonage router and your linksys router via 192.168.x.x through your internet browser. Not sure which routers you have so I can't tell you the exact one? Make sure they are both set up in the same fashion. I know with my linksys I had to make sure that I had something with the IP set a certain way and I also had to do something with the vonage...if nothing else, call up mediatti and they should be able to talk you through it. They did for me a couple times :p Oh, and yea, they suck :p

i don't have a vonage router all i have is the modem for me to hook it to the router. but i'm going to upgrade the firmware for the linksys if that fails i'll call mediatit.
