What internet browser do you use? Why? Advantages?

I use firefox. Just seems to load pages faster if you ask me. It's also better at blocking pop ups. Oh, and of course, I LOVE the spell checker.

lol, that's the same reason I use firefox. Thank you spell checker! Plus it shows my gmail and tracks my soccer games :) Go Chelsea!

Firefox all the way. I've been using it for years. The extensions alone are worth it.

Firefox. I like the "ctrl" + or - to increase /decrease fonts on demand. Plus tabs, extensions, translator...

How do you get firefox?

DocTurtle
10-22-2007, 02:08 PM
google it or I think you go to www.getfirefox.com or www.mozilla.com
Both of the links work :)
I love the "crtl" + "t" for the tabs. I <3 tabs. I find myself at work trying to do it...but we only have IE :(
Here are some sweet pics for firefox. http://computerworld.name/various-versions-of-the-logo-firefox/

Only the greatest internet browser of all time!!!
Click on the links I posted above and check it out for yourself. :)
It's very customizable. It's free. It's made by the users. And there are just soooo many add-on's and whatnot you can use to really make it your own.

I use both firefox and IE, but I use IE the most. I like it better because it loads faster, but I use firefox when I need to dissect a website. The web developer's toolbar is good stuff.

I use IE, because I'm used to it. My husband uses Firefox. He's tried to convert me though. Eh.

Firefox.....at first cause the ol' man told me too, now cause I have grown attached to it's features.

The company I work for has an internet based service that I am always having families contact me that they are having issues utilizing.
If they download firefox and utilize it instead of IE or other services, ~*wha-la*~ no more problems.

I installed the latest version of Opera today and I have to say it's not that bad! A lot of options to allow you to customize it the way you like and some neat little tools.

I'd get some good use out of that tabs feature but mine seems to pop up a tab that says (Untitled) and is blank, any idea why? Thanks.

Like when you hit "crtl" + "t" for the tabs, it should bring up a page that you can use to browse, but mine just comes up blank

Opera has a "speed dial" function. When you open a tab, it shows 9 smaller windows and allows you to pick from 9 of your favorite websites for the new tab. Comes in kinda handy.

I'll be damned...the old man is right! I just downloaded ff3. I have been checking for updates to ff2, but 3 doesn't show as an update, I guess that is why I didn't notice it.

Thanks Bones.

Yeah, DocP. Mozilla released FF3 on the 17th. We couldn't get it until today due to the time difference. Now we just have to wait for our favorite extensions to get upgraded, and we'll be good to go. :105:

I have the "luxury" of having 2.5+ TeraBytes, so I can "afford the space" to try programs in multiple versions. Sometimes "new and improved" is NEITHER!

Firefox 3 launch a success: 8 million downloads in 24 hours
(http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20080618-firefox-3-launch-a-success-8-million-downloads-in-24-hours.html)

Mozilla's Firefox 3 release event yesterday was an epic success. The servers logged over 8 million downloads during the 24-hour download day, and Mozilla has declared victory after exceeding its initial goal of 5 million downloads

8 million downloads in 24hours? That's more than Pam and Tommy Lee!

lol. I d/l it yesterday. It doesn't support the theme I was using though :( Meh, I'll stick with it any way. FF has always been good to me!
