dk,
At the time of this post, there were 22 active users (8 members, 7 guests and 8 bots).
Question: What or who are "bots"? Are these monitoring systems i.e. against profanity?
-----
An active thread today in which what appears to be a child was participating made me think twice. I know that there are PG-13 threads in the forum and some discussions here sometimes get heated using rated-R language.
Just food for thought.

The child that you mentioned signed up for an account here to play games. She has on occasion started some threads mostly innocent stuff about "What branch of service are you in?" or "Where are you from?" kind of stuff.
My 8 year old has an account here as well, for playing in the arcade but has never and will never, until he is old enough to know better himself, participate in the forums, nor does he even read them.
You see dk graciously made a special account for them where they do not have to post 5 posts a day to play in the arcade.
BUT the girl child you are refering to decided to play with the big people.
Some of the people here knew that, but evidently not everyone, and I agree that is a bit of a problem as the subject material on some of these threads is risque at best.
Personally I would appreciate it if dk would figure out a way to keep the kids of the forums.
Good points to this post btw.
Bots are what makes the www go round. Most of the bots are googlebots and other search engine bots pulling information from this website so that later searches will find relevant information.

dk, have you ID'd P_chan. :thumbup1:
Muku, Some comments intended for adults may be misconstrued if it turns out the "adult" is a kid. I'm just saying because it could happen.

Hey just because I'm an adult doesn't mean I can't love gundam! I've always thought it would be cool to see (in real life of course) something really big just tearing shit up.

My kid sticks to the games as well.
IMO
If a parent is responsible for what the kids watch on tv I think that responsibility should transfer over to online as well.

You are quite right, and that's what I do.
I just didnt think it was right for the woman to allow her girl child to play like that.

Lol, I bought a friend of mine one of those big Gundam's at Jusco for his birthday. It was like $120. He's a huge fan of them, but then again who isn't? :p
If you like Gundam have you played the game ChromeHounds? It's more similar to MechWarrior than to Gundam, but I've noticed most people who like Gundam also like the MechWarrior stuff as well. Giant robots blowing stuff up is always fun :)
As for the bots, I think it was because of them that I even found this forum  Hurray for Googlebot!:86:

My sons are currently "enjoying" the recent Wii game, wait one I'll find the title here some where, oh yes that's it....Gundam:rolleyes::eek:
I think there are about 20 or 25 Gundams lying around the house here in boxes and in various states of repair and those not built yet.
I am jealous:crying::D

Hey I don't drool over them! But I do go and check them out every once in a while:D I don't consider myself geeky either! But my wife does occasionally jokingly call me otaku:D

P_chan. Yes, otaku.
Reminds me of Otakon. Ever been to one of those?
During one of those held in Baltimore some time ago, my boys me informed of their road trip.
I said, OK, let's see where a good hotel's at. I then was told that I wasn't invited and that they were not asking me, they were telling me. Anyway they went to Baltimore on the elder's precious Civic.
That was the day the boys grew up. Interestingly, as with many their age nowadays, they still haven't outgrown Gundams, Halo 3, Half Life, Diablo. Even got me hooked on C&C Red Alert, Generals which I still play sometimes. LOL. All good times.
