Have any of you used housekeeping services advertised at the Classifieds under Services Offered? Any good experiences to share?

I don't know if I'm the one being fussy or are the housekeepers just not thorough. I've tried Good Housekeeping several times now & their housekeepers just seem to have a different definition of the meaning of CLEAN compared to mine. Though the floor is relatively cleaner from before they came, it was obvious that they just did a sweep/vacuum & a quick mop up. There was accumulated dust & dirt (Just plain too busy to deal with cleaning so even the laundry bottles, washing machine & dryer were dirty) around the kitchen that was ignored. The floor left sticky. Quite exasperating. I reckon they concentrate on the sink area more.
They did an awesome job with the bathroom. My only gripe is that they left out cleaning the shower curtain which had some build up grime at the bottom fold.

So, am I fussy or?

I think you should be able to go over with them what you would like done. They may do a general plan but have no problem tweaking it to follow a specific preference of a client.

I know when I hired a cleaning lady (while the ol' man was away for 6mts) she came by before hand, we went over everything I would like done and we agreed on a payment amt and a date for the visits. As she went along if there was something I noticed I needed changed I asked her if she could do it and from then on she would cover it.
Now she was the only cleaning lady I have ever worked with personally, so your's could be different.

It would be worth the try to see if going over your desires/preferences with them makes any difference. If not, then perhaps getting a different service and starting fresh would help???

Your not fussy... I am very picky when it comes to people cleaning my house. I have heard many complaints from others. Most complaints were people not to have come clean your house. Like American's, most of them just come to your house to report your ass, if it doesn't meet military standards or something gay! They do a shitty job cleaning, I knew someone who caught them in the act of snoopy around their stuff, using their phone talking to someone telling them how trashed the house was, how they were called to clean their house, but once they got there it was the worst they could ever imagine. Here this family was new to Island, both active duty, older couple with kids. They video taped the house before the cleaners arrived, also left the video camera running hidden in bookshelf along with 1 upstairs. They were smart tho, they tried many people posting ad's in the paper. Filipina's there may be some good ones out there, but majority of them are greedy, they find something they like they take it. Please don't go bitching at me that I said that, damn my husband is Filipino and he won't even have a Filipina clean our house or recommend it to anyone.

This one is always in the paper - don't have them do it. They are beyond worse, they don't do a good job, just waste of money, several people I knew hired them to do PCS cleanings after 5+ times they finally passed. They always would forget to clean the oven and microwave, and 2 places they didn't know they had a laundry room behind a door!!

Anointed Hands Cleaning:We are two very experienced ladies. We do pcs cleaning, general cleaning, off and on base.

I also heard Okiclean and Express clean weren't good.

I have used On Time Cleaning - their 1st cleaning is the bomb - it blew me away when I came home, amazed how they got the kitchen floor so clean, and all the mold out of the upstairs bathroom. Since then when they come after the my floors are still dirty. I pay $50.00 a week just for them to clean 1 bathroom once a month and the 1/2 bathroom as needed, mop kitchen and dining room, laundry floors. It would be nice if I could find someone to help fold clothes. I did have a mamasan she was the bomb, I never asked her to dishes or clean kitchen, or lot of stuff, and she would never let me pay her more yen. She had to go to mainland, her mom was dying sick, she sends me emails, but since I couldn't find anyone to replace her I am stuck with on-time cleaning.

Honestly, if your that picky with the way your house is cleaned, just do it yourself.

I could use a maid. I'm not really messy, but I like to leave things out and clutter up the house. My wife is the same way so our room is a mess. On top of that I have a shiba ken so once he sheds, it snows fur.

I think that if you did not go over with them what you expected, then you really can't complain. Each household is different in what they consider clean. Before they start next time, I would do as Temp said and go over each detail...also inspect afterwards and show them any problems.

Or...just clean it yourself and save the $$$.

Or hire me to do your cleaning. I clean Mcdonalds in Newark.
Our overall rating is as follows:
98.2% cleanliness report - every month inspection
98.2% overall rating for F.O.R (Full operation Report) 18 month inspection.
I think the reports say it all. It takes a good team effort, and one good maintenance person to keep it all together!
The place is spotless!

Do it yourself? That's easier said than done. It isn't easy being a good homemaker. If I could do everything myself without losing what little sleep & energy I have left after taking care of the house, baby, kids & hubs, I would. Taking care of the house means - Laundry, Clean Beds, Clean Bathrooms & Kitchen Sink, Tidy & Neat EVERYWHERE. All I expected the housekeeper to do was clean the surfaces that were VISIBLE with dirt. Why should anyone have to go over places to be cleaned if so? Any place that is visible to the eye, right? That isn't so hard, is it? They managed to finish in 3 & a half hours though they collected money for 4 hours so my house should be pretty small & easy to clean. If only they used the remaining half hour to CHECK & make sure they did a good job! They told me that they would clean the floor, surfaces & bathrooms.

Do you have the contact details for OnTime Cleaning that you mentioned? If yes, could you PM them to me?

If any of you folks out there have a good cleaning person with Mondays available, please let me know. I'm looking for a housemaid. It's getting more and more difficult to stay on top of the cleaning. The baby doesn't sleep as much as she did early on. Thanks in advance for any info y'all can give to me.

Express clean was awful. Dirtbusters was good but they just quit on me to stay home with their kids all summer. Still looking for a replacement.
