I've been asked what and where chulau is so I decided to make a thread about it. It's a very nice place and I really enjoy it. But if you go, don't act like a loud obnoxious fool! It ruins the relaxing mood for everyone else.

It's right behind chatan jusco. You know the big hotel tower behind jusco right? It's right next door to that! Costs about 1,400 but it's really nice. They have a small bath house attached to the locker room with a small healing pool and small sauna attached (naked area). Then the main area (bathing suit area) has a large healing pool, hot tub, cold pool, and warm pool. There is also a larger sauna and small cold room in the main area. The best thing is you can go to the restaurant upstairs and get yourself a beer and drink it while your relaxing in the pools.

Oh and they also have some of those doctor fish in the lobby. If you pay to get in you can use them for 10 minutes for free. I really like it once they nibble on my feet! There is also a tatami room with vending machines, massage chairs, foot massage machines, a tv, and some tables. Oh and I almost forgot! In the gift shop there is a massage place too! I haven't tried it out yet. I tried to get a massage once I was there on thursday but they were all booked for the rest of the night.

Yeah your right it's chu la u, my bad.

I think you can have one tattoo as long as it's not huge. Any others you might have to cover up.

Could you give us some protocol and tips? Don't want to act like the ugly American when I go in there. Like walking in the ladies room by accident:scared:

LOL you would have to be blind to go into the wrong bathroom. But I'll try to give some tips

1.Take a shower before you get in the pools. I know is sounds stupid, you'll get a lot of stairs if you don't rinse off before you get into the pools. I like to take a quick shower before I leave too!

2. Be polite! You can sit there and converse with the group your with, but don't become unruly. Oh and if your having a conversation with your friends, try to use your indoor voice. I know it's outside, but your friend is only 3 feet in front of you, not reason to yell.

3. Don't make out with your girl/guy in the pool. There was this one guy and girl who kept doing it last time I was there. It was like she was giving him a lap dance, inappropriate.

4. Cover your tattoos. If you've got one small one, you should be fine. But if you get a lot, they might ask you to leave. But my buddy has 3 tattoos, but no one said anything to him. I think if your american, they cut you some slack.

5. RELAX! and don't be shy! If your in the bath house section, don't be shy. Your not the only naked person there!

Why would they ask you to leave for having tattoos?

Is this a rule?

Because the japanese associate having a tattoo with being in the yakuza. They don't want yakuza at their establishment (unless it caters to yakuza) so they don't want you to scare away the regular customers.
